Can we possibly be like a Montreal next year? maybe somehow get another high pick then have young guys like Chytil, Lias, Kravtsov, etc contribute and have a turn around year while still stockpiling first and second round picks to our prospect pool?

Doubtful unless Shestyorkin goes 2005-06 Hank.

It`s possible, but it depends on many things on how they perform like Kravtsov first NHL season, and how I see it I think we will see a huge team improvement in the next 2-3 years when our older players retire from our blueline and some of our D depth in our farm start showing flashes of skill and talent from the 2018 draft year.

so you're telling me either A) you knew montreal was gonna be this good this year or B) you think Carey price is that much better than Hank? montreal was one of the worst teams in the league last year. Hate to say it MB made a few moves that changed feel and play of that team. In fact I would say Montreal was just as bad last year as we are this year. I understand that having Price back healthier could be the difference thats why was just asking the question.

ok i understand your dislike for him but 31 points in 60 games and probably even more if he didn't have that serious injury when he got hit in the head by the puck is not minor league.

More points, but more games played. I doubt that his overall rate of production would change much.

As a comparable, Nash had 46 in 89 and apparently he was a total playoff bust.

Time to stop this silly losing and tanking talk. They want to win, they have pride, and they want to take care of the fans.

Still over .5 ppg for the playoffs I would say is pretty decent.

That turned out well. I've had this ongoing battle with this Bruin friend of mine that goes back 46 years now and he promised an ass whipping in this one--payback for our last game. And after we fell behind 3-1 I was prepping some creative excuse making. Referencing Cody McLeod--like how do you expect us to win when we've already started our big sell off? We've now won the season series against them and the only way he's getting the upper hand back is if the Bruins win the cup. So I'm pretty f***ing pleased.

I knew they'd be better, I'm not at all surprised that they're playing the way that they are. Price isn't better than Hank, but their defense is miles better than ours, and their D isn't all that great.

Plus their coach is a pretty good one. Not saying that Quinn isn't, but not having any goaltending+ them giving half the team the year off with hangnails and bruises after the deadline is why they finished where they did.

Zuccarello isn’t Nash, not sure why you’re using him as a barometer.

Both guys who are considered to be top 6 drivers of offense.

No he isn't Nash, but their roles are the same. If Nash was a bust, so is Zucc.

FWIW, Nash grossly outplayed Zucc in the post season for most of his time here.

You guys have to stop worrying about not tanking enough. They're going to lose a ****load of games once Hayes, Zucc and McQuaid are gone. Ryan Strome 2c, Vesey top 6 and Pionk top pair. We'll win less than 5 games after the trade deadline.

Tonight was an exciting game. Also it was 3-1 going into the 3rd and they came back and tied one of the top teams in the league and beat them in the shootout after playing an electrifying overtime. Chytil had the tying goal in the 3rd. This is entertainment in the end of the day and that was a fun game and if I'm going to pick a game to get the extra point I'd WAY rather it be the 3-1 3rd period comeback vs Boston where we arguably outplayed them, than a game where we get ****pumped all night and then win a game we have no business of being in.
Have you met fluffier?

Well you would be one of the few who thought they would because I listen to montreal radio every day pretty much and that was not the sentiment especially after what their fans thought was another disaster trade with AG being traded for Domi. They are one of the pleasant surprises of the NHL this season. I definitely feel Price has been a big factor (his movement this year from post to post is so much better than last season when he obviously probably wasn't healthy). Given the rest of their team a boost of confidence.

I swear he's gotta be one of the worst players (who are supposed to be goal scorers, not counting McLord types) in the NHL at converting wide open net chances. I swear it's every game with him.
Might be true but would you rather have someone that never even SNIFFS the net? I am sorry, but Vesey really gets abused here. Okay, he has hands of stone.......is a knucklehead......has almost a more punchable face than that rat from Boston.....but, he is NOT as bad as most portray him to be. Be objective.

Chytil is going to be a beast in a year or two when he grows into his frame and gains some confidence

He's still crawling right now, but the skill level is clearly there to become a top line forward I think
Absolutely. Kravtsov seems to be of the same mold. If we can hit on another pick this draft with their ability then we should have a lot to be excited about.

Lol they can go from the worst team to ever exist to cup contenders in a span of 24 hours according to their fans.

Bergavin and Co did a masterful job securing their spot last year. Meanwhile our guys were trying to rush Shattenkirk back into the lineup before his knee said f*** it.
