I don’t see anyone out of the Q being a viable selection...Americans, Russians and Swedes are where I’d put my money.
Rangers have never drafted a player out of the Q in the 1st.

As someone who wants us to pick Kaliyev as early as 4OA, I'm not too concerned about the specific draft position outside of the lottery odds. He's putting together a Svechnikov-like season as one of the younger guys in the draft. This is a great draft. It's a year you could feasibly get away with being in the middle.
Yeah. He does.said it before ill say it again.
ADA is a keeper and EXACTLY the type of player this organization needs in a rebuild or whatever this is.
hes brash, cocky, has swag, won't back down, plays with some emotion and grit and will chirp and jaw with anyone. kids not afraid and he will drop em and hold his own. PLUS HES TALENTED AS ****.
trying to HEALTHY SCRATCH that out of this kid isn't the correct method to control him.
monitor his behavior on and off the ice, discipline the kid when he steps over the line, and help him mature with off ice support but for goids sake....
DONT ****ING SCRATCH THE KID ANYMORE FOR STUFF HE MIGHT DO OR STUFF HE DID THAT DOESNT AMOUNT TO DOG****. LET HIM PLAY.
understand quinn ???
I tend to feel like he should stay in the line up as well he does bring some of those elements, sure he has some boneheaded mistakes but I’m fine with that because it’s not like right now every single point countsYeah. He does.
Way more than you and your incessant ramblings about this topic do.
He led the entire team in TOI last night, 24:06Don't forget that ADA had a pretty bad game last night, except for the GWG. Took a stupid penalty, and the Bruins scored. Screened Georgiev instead of blocking the shot, another one in our net. He has a lot to learn, and that GWG won't fool Quinn.
Our corsi sucks but our quality metrics are pretty decent. We've been a little lucky but we should probably only be picking 9th instead of 11th.
Unfortunately, we're just not THAT bad. I think we've done everything we can to be that bad, but we're just not.
Stick to Zucc shilling.Don't forget that ADA had a pretty bad game last night, except for the GWG. Took a stupid penalty, and the Bruins scored. Screened Georgiev instead of blocking the shot, another one in our net. He has a lot to learn, and that GWG won't fool Quinn.

That was the first season I watched the Rangers so it'll always be near and dear to heart.
Also, these points aren't "meaningless" as I've seen many say. I know it's said in the context of "the tank," but still. We talk about building a culture and all of that, and at the same time the kids need to learn how to win games. These types of games are important in that sense. And we're getting important contributions from young guys like Chytil, Buch, ADA, Georgiev, etc., which is great. And Zibs isn't really thought of as a young guy because he's been around for years, but his continued ascendence into stardom is just as huge.
So the points don't help the tank, but they're certainly meaningful.
They were never really awful. They were just bad, but not bad enough to get top picks.Despite all the disappointment, some of the teams in the Dark Ages were highly entertaining.
Building a winning culture?
LOL
ADA is still considered a rookie, isn't he? Anyway, young D men usually DO make boneheaded moves now and again. Their development is a lot slower than forwards because they have a lot more to do and a lot more ice time, more responsibility. ADA seems to learn from his mistakes from what I can see.I tend to feel like he should stay in the line up as well he does bring some of those elements, sure he has some boneheaded mistakes but I’m fine with that because it’s not like right now every single point counts
I'm not discounting culture, but I think it's much simpler than that with Edmonton.I mean, look at the Oilers.
Rieder was an Oilers pick as well, though I guess he was developed by the Arizona organizaiton.I'm not discounting culture, but I think it's much simpler than that with Edmonton.
They're simply the worst drafting team in the NHL.
Yes, they have McDavid, RNH, and Draisaitl, and they had Hall, but my dog could have made those picks.
In an entire generation, they've had ONE good draft pick that they've had to put any effort into (Klefbom) and even that was a first rounder.
They also have just ONE player on their roster, drafted and developed by the Oilers, who was selected outside of the first round (Khaira) and he's a fourth liner.
Outside of Khaira, it's no exaggeration to say they literally don't get anyone past the first round.

Sort of like this year, except this year, I think we tried our best to commit to a rebuild. The Dark Ages teams tried to compete and sabotaged their own draft status.
The epitome of how NHL franchises should build. /sI mean, look at the Oilers.

And you have to look long and hard to find ANY player of value they've added to the organization outside of using a high first round draft pick. Going back a long time. Stretching past three GMs.I'm not discounting culture, but I think it's much simpler than that with Edmonton.

Instead they trade one of their few players with tremendous value for a dollar store Norris winner. And you have to look long and hard to find ANY player of value they've added to the organization outside of using a high first round draft pick. Going back a long time. Stretching past three GMs.
He had a very good 1st and an average 2nd (I don’t think the goal was his fault), but had a great 3rd period.Don't forget that ADA had a pretty bad game last night, except for the GWG.
