Time to stop this silly losing and tanking talk. They want to win, they have pride, and they want to take care of the fans.

Wanting them not to win and hoping to see Zibanejad continue to blossom, Chytil and ADA continue to develop, and Hayes and Zuccarello continue to boost their trade value doesn’t have to be mutually exclusive. In the end, both can beneficial to the organization in the long run. I’m on the tanking end for the simple fact a top 5 pick would do the franchise very well in the long run if the pick does well. I just don’t trust the Rangers to make a good pick outside of that range based on past history.

If Auston Matthews was standing behind Vesey and guiding his swing, his hands on Vesey's hands, he'd still miss the net
I honestly feel bad for vesey...he seems like a guy whose pretty hard on himself
..I can relate..I'm basically exactly the same on the ice..sometimes eff up plays where you're not sure how it's possible to eff up such an easy play.

When you get that feeling in your head it just builds and builds and builds. Sometimes you just need something lucky to happen to you to fix it. But it's clear that the kids head is really in a bad place. No confidence in himself at all.

Lol they can go from the worst team to ever exist to cup contenders in a span of 24 hours according to their fans.

Bergavin and Co did a masterful job securing their spot last year. Meanwhile our guys were trying to rush Shattenkirk back into the lineup before his knee said **** it.

love the passion for hockey talk tho something we never get in new york (albeit never found more annoying fans than the year we beat them in 2014 kreider vs price lol).

Well you would be one of the few who thought they would because I listen to montreal radio every day pretty much and that was not the sentiment especially after what their fans thought was another disaster trade with AG being traded for Domi. They are one of the pleasant surprises of the NHL this season. I definitely feel Price has been a big factor (his movement this year from post to post is so much better than last season when he obviously probably wasn't healthy). Given the rest of their team a boost of confidence.

I'm not plugged into the Montreal scene in any way, but get the feeling from reading around that the Habs world in general have been in despair over the last few seasons as they saw Marc Bergevin make some really bonehead decisions and transactions. I don't know enough about the organization to know where they are headed, but this season may be just what Bergevin needed to save his job. I still have real reservations about Bergevin's abilities.

I think he's not processing mentally fast enough. Or he simply gets the equivalent of stage fright

Yeah he did pretty much as well as he could since the draft. Drafting Kotkaniemi which right now looks genius. The Domi trade which for the most part influenced the team in a very big way not to mention the points he is putting up. pretty much a ppg player (doubling his goal total from last year already) which no one would have seen coming I don't care what anyone says. Plus he had a pretty good draft beyond the Kotkaniemi pick. Also did well in the Patioready trade. So sentiment has changed quite a bit for a guy that was public enemy number one in montreal back before the season started.
Before that he made some big trades that most considered horrible trading PK for Shea and Drouin for Sergachev.

24 hours? Try mid sentence.

Don’t look now, but Mika Zibanejad is becoming an elite player. Night after night, he’s the best player on the ice, even when the opposition includes the likes of Crosby, Malkin, Stamkos, Kucherov, Kopitar or Bergeron. Not only is he making highly-skilled plays, but he’s starting to use all of his attributes in the process. Now, Gorton needs to build the top six around him. While getting Hughes we updated be wonderful, Gorton just needs to get the right center behind Zibanejad.

Screw that. Get me a better overall player than zib. That's the kind of franchise talent we are starved for. Love zib right now but I want even better in combination with him

Sometimes, I get flashbacks to 00-01 with this team.

Mostly it comes from having a dominant first line while struggling defensively. 00-01 was the year of the Dvorak-Nedved-Hlavac line. There are some obvious differences, but in some ways the feel is exactly the same.
