Don't forget that ADA had a pretty bad game last night, except for the GWG. Took a stupid penalty, and the Bruins scored. Screened Georgiev instead of blocking the shot, another one in our net. He has a lot to learn, and that GWG won't fool Quinn.
He also made the long pass to spring Buchnevich on a breakaway leading to the second goal. And had an assist on the third and tying goal.

He had a pretty decent game. Needs to do a better job of boxing out his man on the first Bruins goal but his penalty was more bad luck after sliding into Bergeron while trying to block the pass on an odd man rush that came as Bergeron was coming out of the box. Not like it was a dumb slashing penalty or something.

A lot of people do not understand that getting their teeth kicked in and gutting the time entirely is probably one of the worst things to do and cripples your team even if you get a 1OA.

I agree. The experiences you make throughout a season, like in life, will linger on inside of you. Certain habits can manifest, and they can be very detrimental. Case A is the Yotes for me, and I made this point earlier as did many others. Losing culture can be a thing.

The Rangers don't have that imo. We're proud and far away from total suckage or any losing culture. In fact we have a winning culture for very long now. Our issue is, we lack culture of finishing. Finishers, not talking about snipers per se.

It's about getting over humps, there are teams that can't get over the first hump seemingly, we couldn't get over the last one.

I have seen this first hand in Buffalo. This whole botched rebuild, gutting, and asset management failure trifecta is still lingering, and I hope we never become that way. I don't think we will. That being said, I do value a top 5-10 pick and having the chance to have a player with some good potentially game changing skills would be a big plus for the team, should they handle and help him/them develop right.

They were never really awful. They were just bad, but not bad enough to get top picks.

Sort of like this year, except this year, I think we tried our best to commit to a rebuild. The Dark Ages teams tried to compete and sabotaged their own draft status.

The biggest issue with the Dark Ages teams was playing against the bad teams in the league (more of a 2000-04 thing). It always seemed like the "superstars" would float in games against Atlanta, Columbus, etc. But when they'd play a top team, other than the Devils, they'd win more often than not. That's why there was always that faint hope that a team would go on a streak and get into a playoff spot. That's why they kept buying and signing.

One year I totaled up the record against the good teams and they were about six games over .500, but they were something like ten games under against the mediocre and bad teams. That sums up the culture around that team at the time.

I will say that I'm not enthusiastic about drafting 13th though, so I wouldnt mind a few more losses.

keep that 18/44 tandem together and that will happen. winning isnt helping at this point.

i keep saying though, this team isnt as bad as many here believe. i still think we finish in the 7-10 range. good player there but not the cream in this draft which drops off after 10.

the talent gap is pretty wide vs. the top teams no doubt, but our top line can play with anyone and as long as pionk sits and ADA plays, we have a chance. we just have no secondary scoring.

the boys seem to be able to stay in games and rally which is a good sign. the effort is there.

no need for a complete sell off. tactical rebuild i can get behind, especially if we get back NHL ready roster players for 13 and 36 along with a pick or 2.

stay away from panarin unless we are looking to keep 13 and clean house with 22/42/44. otherwise, makes no sense. pass.

Quinn`s thoughts after this late evening game in MSG.

I kind of don't agree with "shaking up the lines, because they're not delivering the goods" comment. He mentioned Strome having 3 breakaways........so shaking up the lines, makes Strome put the puck in? If it ain't broke dont fix it. If they're NOT getting opps., then mix it up. But if they are.........isn't it just a matter of time? Why spoil the chemistry that some may have with one another?
For example.......Vesey seems to be a different player when paired with Hayes. There IS that Boston connection. Cannot minimize that. They like each other and play for one another.
Don't know what the stats are........maybe I am wrong.

That's true, and at this point, Edmonton would be buying if they were winless.

Anaheim absolutely should be selling but I guess we'll see.

What the **** happened to Colorado?

Thats what I am saying. Them dropping like a rock, really hurt the Hayes sweepstakes.

This is a great draft. It's a year you could feasibly get away with being in the middle.
Fine, then lets be in the middle with 3 picks. Trade 1 to move up if need be. Having that "option", would be awesome. Just look at the great position Colorado is in. They keep dropping conceivably will have the BEST % chance over everyone.

The epitome of how NHL franchises should build. /s

Oh it's wishful thinking. I was trying to put my finger on it.

I found my original desired answer indirectly.

Tony and Marchand in the same sentence . . .
Hey, @ponytrekker Check out @Buchnevich89 and my post (less than a minute apart) "prior to" that interview with Quinn below. #thetrueRangersbraintrust
Maybe he’ll be the defenseman version of Marchand (without the licking and cheap shots of course).

Let him be our Marchand. Best thing about this win.....Milburybush's crybaby face about his Bruins loss. Lmao.

So much for the come-from-ahead loss to the Kings that should've greased the wheels on a tailspin.
