I thought Nylander was the most noticeable Swede? He petered out as the game went along but he was a constant threat in the offensive zone.

did we watch the same game:laugh:? he was invisible

I didn't think he was invisible at all. Whenever he touched the puck there seemed to be a chance for Sweden, especially in the first and second periods. In the defensive zone it seemed like the play was always on the other wing, not his.

Pathetic by Renberg to try find faults in Reway's game at every chance, when he was clearly the best skater on the ice. Guy outplayed every Swedish forward by a mile.

Last two games are on the coach as far as I'm concerned. You don't play two games like that in a row if you are well prepared. He'll get away with the age card though.

All that being said, Slovakia played the type of tournament I expected one of Switzerland or Czechs to potentially play. Three impressive wins over Finland, Czechs and Sweden and they deserved bronze. They also played this bronze game with less rest and their semi was more draining than the one Sweden played.

Reway was pretty poor to start the game though but as soon as Renberg started to talk him down I knew he was going to turn it on, and he did

It felt like a passive aggressive move by Swedish management to select the players that they did for the end of tournament awards. Kind of like a middle finger directed at Nylander and company.

Can anyone find Reway's final Time on Ice?

Had to be over 30 minutes.

Anyone else notice the Slovakian flag was messed up when they raised it? Looked to me like the symbol was turned on its side.

Good observation but that was actually correct. The position of the symbol (coat of arms) changes in the vertical hanging flag.

The problem with Nylander Kempe Lindblom and Forsling is that they have 90% of their point on the PP. At even strenght they were average at best.......

BTW Reway is the most underrated player in the WJC 2015.

Congrats Slovakia!!!!

Invisible? He created most of Sweden's chances and was the reason Sweden got into the game in the first place.

The third period he didn't play for the first 5 minutes because of the dumb major penalty.

How the hell did Hagg get a top 3 player for Sweden award? He was as awful as Germany's dmen.

Even this game which is considered bad for Nylander he probably created 5-7 prime scoring chances. Other than that he was by far Sweden's best player and it's not even debatable.

The coaching was awful.

Scores goal. Is criticized. Team loses.

Kessel Pt. II

He was not good at all against Russia or tonight.

None of the players tonight deserves to wear the Swedish flag on their chest playing like this.

Yeah, Grönborg seems like a ******. I find it really hard to like him or his coaching

Congrats Slovakia, you earned this win.

Team Sweden didn't play a good game, I don't know why but who cares at this point. I liked the way that they played against Finland but maybe that's it, they played great because you could tell that they really didn't want to lose to them and get back at them for the final last year but they didn't have the same urgency in these last two games.

Oh well, hopefully they can do what they did last time they came in 4th place (in 2011) go on and play 3 straight final games (1 gold and 2 silvers), maybe next year they want to get revenge and will then also have some more experience, who knows but while it's easy to complain I'm sure no one feels worse than the players right now.

Aho is an expert at falling at just the wrong time, and at never ever getting his shot past the first shot blocker. Geez, rarely have I seen a player go from "hero to zero" so quickly.

Holmström's decline in the tournament was also surprising.

I just realized Slovakia won all their games vs fellow European teams. They beat the Finns, Germans, Czechs and Swedes. Beat by Canada and USA.

Nylander 6 ES points, 4 PP points.

40% is almost 90% though. So close.
