Big props to Slovakia and Denmark and exceeding expectations and giving a good showing in this tournament.

I don't know about anyone else but I had Denmark challenging for a QF spot so they basically did what I expected. But I have a soft spot for underdogs so maybe my expectations were a little high but they met them so probably not

Yep 1999 was the last time. And we beat Sweden in the bronze medal game that year as well.

Meh. Refs gave the Slovaks a terrible tripping penalty and a gift-wrapped 5th Canadian goal yesterday. So it evens out.

I'm dissapointed with the swedish team. To win a competition, you have to compete. You did, Sweden didn't. This loss wasn't because of fatigue or lack of skill. It's because of not finishing checks, not skating enough, not hounding the puck, not pressuring the opponent, not doing all those details that a succesful game consists of.
