So it doesn't seem like they will be retaining Sevigny. That's kind of weird considering he was one of the few junior pick ups who didn't end up in the ECHL.

He was a nice surprise last year . Good size and offensive play. The only reason he was signed in the first place was that he was Dufour’s teammate. So either they feel that Dufour is ready to be called up sooner rather than later, he may be part of a trade or ( simplest and most likely reason)they just like what they have better.

I guess it’s a good sign for Salo that he’s still here .. at least for now.

We can’t sleep on the possibility that Salo could make the team over Bolduc and possibly challenge Aho

He looked good enough early on with the big club. Didn’t look so hot in the A. Hope he turns it around.

I wonder if Gill makes it with Bridgeport this year . More likely starts in the ECHL. Good size and hands .

At the draft, Gill already spoke about how it was his intent and the stuff of discussion with the NYI that he begin his pro career immediately.

In light of his going already in Round 3, it really sounds like they not only had their sites on him, but that his drafting (and the reason for it) was/were no surprise for his camp.

When I look at all the names that are options for BPort, it almost makes you wonder what the rush is for him to go pro? Has another year of Q eligibility and naturally there's time until he'd need to be signed.

Who knows. Maybe Lou thinks that he can learn more defensively or train better under the watchful eye of Thompson or the ECHL staff rather than the Q.

Agree that they probably knew Andreoff wanted to leave and they didn’t qualify Adams so they seem to have had a plan for Gill.

Good to see the isles dipping into the Q pool lately.

I don’t think they would have drafted Gill if thought he couldn’t win a job over guys like Newkirk and Pivonka.

Well, I think Dufour was the last player selected out of the Q.

And that was in 2020.

Thus, 15 players have been taken since they last selected a player from the Q.

In total, there have been 34 picks made in Lou's 6-year tenure. 4 were used on players from the Q.

Wow. Felt like more than that .I guess when compared to the last two regimes , Lou seems like a Franco-phile 😂

Sounds like Terry won’t be back…

Gonna be interesting to see:
A. How the new blood plays without their top 2 veterans
B.How soon Lou cans Thompson

Just an out of world guess based on some common lines in BPT late last season.

Johnston-Koivula-Holmstrom
Iskhakov-Kubiak-Kuhlman
Durandeau-MacLean-Dufour
Maggio-Pinho-Bardreau

This is telling you how much the organization thinks of Dufour and Maggio

Terry and Andreoff’s minutes and responsibilities are theirs

Add Holmstrom, Durandeau and Ish to that list of players that are going to be relied on to replace those goals.

Lots of size and toughness there.

Agree that the Gauthier deal probably means Holmstrom will head to the A for a bit more marinating.

Also a lot of right wingers...

My two cents: Maggio saw time on the LW of Andreoff and Terry (left shot right winger) last season who were 2/3rds of BPT's top line.

I wonder if they continue to experiment with Maggio on the LW because of his speed and ability to accept pucks/make plays on his back hand. In addition, it would mean a quicker path to the NHL because the Islanders need both speed and youth on the left wing.

I'm not thrilled with those lines. I'd rather pair up potential NHLers.

The centers are pretty weak, so it really doesn't matter much who is there

I would like to see Iskhakov and Holmstrom paired, as well as Maggio and Dufour, and Johnston and Durandeau (Durandeau on RW).

Let them get acquainted with each other

And this assumes Holmstrom doesn't start in the NHL
