AmazingBrent saw himself out . Good for him .. Kowalski… you’re up!
Brent goes to Lou and gives him an ultimatum; if Terry goes, I go
And Lou killed two birds with one stone!
Lou is the MAN

Can they start this many experienced pro players? What is the rule on this again?Just an out of world guess based on some common lines in BPT late last season.
Johnston-Koivula-Holmstrom
Iskhakov-Kubiak-Kuhlman
Durandeau-MacLean-Dufour
Maggio-Pinho-Bardreau

What counts as professional? NHL games?Found this:

Each AHL team is only allowed to dress five players with 321 or more professional games played and only one player with between 260 and 320 NHL games played.

It’s actually considered a mix of both NHL and AHL, might be ECHL too as that is a “professional” league with an affiliate to the AHL. The goal of that rule is to have spots for pure rookies and young pro players.AHL games I believe.

Hoping sevigny becomes that guyI look at Pulock, Pelech, Mayfield, Aho, and Toews a few years back and sure as all heck hope that the next guy in line is going to be churning out the next line of NHL Dmen at that rate.
He wasn't qualified nor is he on the Capfriendly roster/contract listHoping sevigny becomes that guy

Not sure what they see in him other than a warm body at this point. Would have much rather rolled the dice with someone else out there with potential needing an oppurtunity.Skarek har just signed a two year deal.
There's still room for another in the ECHL. We only have 5 goalies under contract - Ilya, Varly, Lennox, Skarek and Appleby. Not sure what they see in him other than a warm body at this point. Would have much rather rolled the dice with someone else out there with potential needing an oppurtunity.
Wish we could grab Hunter Shepard from the Caps...he's older, and never had a chance at the NHL level, but he legitimately has never had a save percentage below .916 going all the way back to before he was in college. Would like to see him in the Bridge as real goalie insurance. There's still room for another in the ECHL. We only have 5 goalies under contract - Ilya, Varly, Lennox, Skarek and Appleby.
In all likelihood, unless Skarek or Lennox prove themselves worthy during the season. If we need to call up a goalie this year, who would it be? Appleby?

With the AHL season only being 72 games, 37-38 games is a staring goalie, albeit, more of a platoon style one. And last season Appleby played 30 games in the ECHL and only 5 in the AHL, so I doubt the organization sees him as anAt this point, I would think Skarek is next in the pecking order.
He's still 23 and has spent the better part of 4 seasons with the organization.
However, the first two were Covid-inflicted and thus, his minutes were very limited.
He's played 37 and 38 games respectively over the past two seasons, thus more or less spot duty.
With ol' pal Schneider having moved on, he has his shot to be "the man" in the crease for BPort with a youngster coming in who'll have a shot, but not as much experience or leeway.
Then again, I have absolutely no clue what the org thinks of Appleby. Very possible they see him as more of a "3rd stringer in a pinch" type of player.
SCARY STATS:
In 103 career AHL games, he has a career GAA of 3.34 and career SV% of .893. He's never had better than a 3.27 GAA or .896 SV% in any of his 4 seasons with Bridgeport.
Lou is extremely loyal to depth players who have stuck it out in the minors by rewarding them with extended call ups. Even if they don’t play they still get paid their NHL salaries which is obviously extremely motivating for those guys on the cusp of the NHL. Guys like Aho, Hutton, Holmstrom, Durandeau, Koivula have stuck it out with the organization while their progress has seemingly been blocked by a logjam in front of them. Guys like Wotherspoon got the same treatment but his time just ran out here - he’ll be up with Bruins by season’s end IMO.At this point, I would think Skarek is next in the pecking order.

There's hardly a player in either of these leagues earning even 150 k.Just speculation here but I thought that he was heading back to Europe after he didn’t sign his QO. After the “Lou delay”, and we found out that he had signed it seems He got some guaranteed money(100k this year and 135k next year) with his 2 year deal/ 2 way deal . I wonder how much he could’ve made over in Finland or Czech leagues and if Lou matched the money.
