He has been great. This is the way he needs to play. He needs to rotate between the 3rd and 4th line from wing to center. Great on the PK, great on face-offs.

Odd how this has gone silent...

I haven't seen my good friend around this thread in a while....

I love when this thread is quiet.

I don't want to be the, "told ya so jerk", but this man is so irrationally despised and to see him perform well is lovely.

I continue to despise Boyle on the PP. He's playing well though, can't take that away from him. Hope to hell he keeps it up.

Stupid selfish penalty probably just ruined the season. Great job, Boyle!:shakehead

Sorry, but you are as dense as they come. How about the goal he scored last night? How about the fact hes been one of the 3 best forwards in this series?

You want scapegoats for whose truly ruining the season? Start with Richards, Nash, and Callahan who have been no shows.

Lets see you take a few cross checks to the head and not respond. The refs should have called the cross check or let the whole sequence go. the screw the Rangers button was in full force last night.

Boyle's been solid and playing hard. He's doing a lot better than a few guys who are making way more money and doing a lot less. If he doesn't play, and we remove his bad penalty and his goal last night - we lose 1-0 in OT. Honestly, how 'bout we blame the guys on the PP for not producing a single away PP goal. Or blame the entire team for not scoring. When you score 2 away goals in 3 plus games, one bad penalty is by far the least of your problems.

Yup, and he pissed it all away with that stupid penalty. From the time you first start playing a contact sport, you are taught that the retaliation always gets caught.

screw that. they only needed the one goal, which he tossed away. as soon as they showed the replay, I said to my wife, "that is a stupid selfish penalty. Guaranteed they score here."

Yes, they should, but you can't take matters into your own hands.

Sorry, I would've done the same damn thing. Though if I am in the ****ing fetal position on the ice getting whacked in the head like that, I'd like to think I could count on my teammates to come ***** slam the guy hitting me. At the very least I'd like the ref who watched the whole ****ing thing to let us play or CALL BOTH PENALTIES. The call on Boyle was ********. The ref saw him get hit twice and let it go, and that is not cool. The same way the refs were letting a lot of Washington **** go.

But the bottom line is, if one PP goal kills us cuz we are averaging 0.61 GPG on the road, the Boyle penalty is the least of the team's ****ing problems.

Because you can predict the future?

The Caps PP goal only tied the score

If this team had any killer instinct they would have converted one of their 2 PP opps early in the first or the 2 almost back to back PP's n the 2nd after the Caps goal.

Or maybe if they had more than 9 SOG's total in periods 2 and 3...they had 5 SOG in the 2nd period even though they had 2 PP's.

But yeah it's Boyle's fault :help:

dumb, dumb penalty. not only did boyle put himself in the box against the leagues best powerplay, but we had a 4 on 2 going the other way that he killed with that slash.

the entire series is not on boyle, but last night he killed us. i would have taken a 1-0 win

Let me start off by saying I don't like Boyle. I think he is slow and does not do enough to be on this team. With that said. He has had a pretty good playoff so far. And because guys like Nash, Richards and Cally have been so bad it has made him look even better. With that said, that penalty was as dumb as it gets. I don't care what the caps player did to him, this team has been told time and time again to stay out of the box. It just shows the guy does not think at all. Would the 1-0 lead have stood up even if he does not take that penalty, probably not but he sure did not help the cause.
