you say that as if there's something wrong with it. when he's on the 4th line, this conversation ceases.
 
Every team has a whipping boy. The '98 Yanks had Irabu. The Oilers had Charlie Huddy. Boyle is loved by the staff. I'm guessing the team likes him as we'll.

Boyle is like Herpes. No good comes from it, it isnt overly damaging, but damaging nonetheless, and always friggin there.
 
For all the hate Boyle gets on here (warranted and unwarranted), he was our best non-Lundqvist out there along with Stralman.

Agreed, had a very solid game IMO. When Clowe comes back sit Pyatt.

Boyle-Powe-Asham

Or some variation of that?

I could go with that, line order doesn't really matter. Torts has been playing all four lines for the duration which is surprising.
 
Playing a guy who scored 2 goals this season on the 2nd line is just asking for us to be a horrible offensive team. I like Boyle but he is a 4th line player not a 2nd line player.

For perspective sake Wade Redden scored more goals and more points this season than Brian Boyle. Some of the worse hockey players of all time had better offensive seasons than Brian Boyle had this year. Bun Cooks ghost could score more than 2 goals in a season. Brian Boyle scored 2 goals all season and one of them was in a empty net.

Agreed. Wasn't asked to do more than he should and played well. 4th line may have been out best line
 
I dont mind Boyle as long as he plays on the 4th line. I hated when he was getting top 6 minutes. I have no problem with Boyle as a PK player but he should be on the 4th line all season
 
I do not see any reason people would "hate" Boyle. They just do not like when he plays more than he should or in roles he does not fit. Its not much different than not wanting Blair Betts to play on the 2nd line or on the power play.
 
Boyle never got top 6 minutes in his career.

I think it's worth a look.
 
You know things are getting desperate when there are suggestions of Boyle playing on the 2nd line and people actually agreeing with that.

Come on now, we can never become that desperate. Then you can just as well start randomly throwing in Powe, Asham or Pyatt in there.

Yet he has played on the 2nd line multiple times and on the powerplay. He is to Torts what Jared Jeffries was to Mike D Antoni. Guys they trusted so they played them more than they should play. Boyle scored 2 goals this season. 1 of his 2 goals was in to an empty net. He should not being playing on anything but the 4th line and the PK based on that production. If he proves he is better than that production then move him up to the 3rd line.
 
So Torts 'loves' Boyle, despite continuously scratching him early in the year when worse players like Pyatt and Powe got looks?

Boyle is a goat for Rangers fans.

Pyatt's productions this season looks like Wayne Gretzky compared to Boyle's production. Powe who was also scratched in games never plays on the 2nd line and doesn't get a real PP shift.

Who (Boyle) went out to play with the 2nd line in OT yesterday?

Who (Boyle) could not handle a pass at center ice when McD needed a change during a ridiculous 3 minute shift (great coaching)?
 
this guy gets the most hate, but hes prob one of the most consistent fwds we have with effort.. at least you cant take that away from him.. hes an ok 3c and the best 4c.. there should be no bad mouthing him.. when you have guys like richards not even contributing in anyway shape or form.. he was brought in to be a 1c and be a force on PP and hasnt done **** all yr to impact it..

Two wrongs doesn't make a right.

Richards gets plenty of hate too.

A guy with 1 goal on a goalie shouldn't be your 3C. End of story.
