I see a lot of people saying Boyle played too much last game. He only played 21:44. Why is that too much??? Crosby played 20:44 yesterday in their OT win and I do not hear Pens fans complaining that was too much.

i have an irrational hatred for selfish dumb penatlies when our team is going up ice with numbers.

i also have an irrational hatred when a selfish, dumb penalty is called and the leagues best power play comes on the ice with a 1 goal lead.

yes, he scored our only goal and he has been good this whole series. But that one goal in game 5 is not blanket coverage to take dumb penalties.

i hope he makes up for it in game 6.

Well at least you admit tht it's irrational and thus forces you to assign way too much blame to Boyle who is not at fault for the much much greater travesty that is OUR PP and OUR offense on a consistent basis.

because Boyle and Crosby souldn't even be used in the same breadth. How can you even come up with that comparison. Boyle game in and game out is no Crosby. That is why people were complaining.

No its not fine. And they weren't worse penalties. Stop trying to cover up how awful his decision to retailiate with a two handed slash while we were going up ice with an odd man rush is. It was inexcusable and the coach decided to comment on this penalty and not the others. You think torts thinks cally and dorsetts penalties were worse? I dont think so

The blame is on boyle. Its ok to win games 1-0. Yes he scored the goal, that is not an excuse to commit terrible penalties. It was awful.

Boyle has been one of our best players out there next to Brassard, yes it was a stupid penalty but that doesn't discredit all the good work hes done this series. Boyle is one of the few players that have actually shown up here.

Why cant he be one of our best players and be the guy that single handedly changed the course of the game? Hes playing great, nobody is denying that. But he still made an inexcusable play that led to the tying goal. That penatly is horrendous.

You can win but it requires a shootout every game so you can not win consistently with just 1 goal.

Boyle is a 3rd center on 25 teams in the NHL. Very good defensively, wins faceoffs, and grinds in the offensive zone
