I think I still move Trocheck down when chytil is ready. He’s cooled a bit I think the magic is bread and laf. Think Chytil would thrive there still.

Trocheck on a line with Cuylle just makes more sense to me in style than Cuylle and Chytil.
I think I might agree, we know Panarin and Laf can have success with either and it allows Laviolette to use Trocheck in a role he’s more comfortable with than Chytil probably would be.

I just want to point out that I read the post game thread of the other team when we win every time and the Wings have the whinniest fans by far. Fans of other teams typically blame their own team for losses. Apparently the Wings are too good for that and it's the refs. It's a f***ing disgrace.

Fixed

Lol I can't think of any other reason for his turnaround in play. It's like when he scored the first goal of the season that he remembered who he was and what he can do.

"The Schwartz is in you, Lone Starr. It's in you!"

Grabbing the stick is literally a penalty so it should've been 2 against Raymond. After that the Redwings just pretended to get sniped all of the ice. My favorite was DeBrincat getting tossed like a toddler by Kreider and then playing dead hoping for a call.

You know laf took all the heat this summer right thru Preseason. Lot of guys wanted him gone in Sept!! (You were nuts by the way)

But this kid CLEARLY bulked up and CLEARLY worked on his skating. He quietly worked very hard this summer that is as obvious as the sky is blue.

You know who did nothing? Kakko. And that’s obvious too. I’ve never seen him pushed off pucks and thrown around like he has been this year which led to him getting injured. His skating did not improve at all. I mean not in the slightest.

And the beat reporters asked him what did he do this summer and he said very clearly nothing different than I always do. He should have been working on his skating and he didn’t. He also looks like he instead of working harder did less. He looked woefully out of shape as soon as real nhl hockey started.

I’m thinking this injury might be the best thing that happened to him. Maybe he can reset his season. Maybe he can get into some kind of shape I don’t know but he’s playing himself off the team. That pending RFA status is a big matzah right now

I see we are having this Fox/Lindgren argument again. Yes, anybody can play with Fox and look good. But, to take advantage of Fox's offensive ability and allow him to just go and not think of what will happen if there's an odd man rush the other way, you need a defense first guy with him. Sort of like Beuk with Leetch. You have a guy that is willing to do the dirty work, a guy that Fox won a Norris playing with, a guy that Fox is obviously comfortable with, what exactly is the problem again?

I think the issue is that Lindgren's puck skills are too poor to play top 4 minutes at this point and that defensemen with his profile are much better suited for bottom pairs. I don't think anyone is arguing that Fox shouldn't play with a defensive defenseman, it's just that, what kind of rope can you give a player that is a complete negative in 2/3 zones? It definitely affects Fox's ability to play as well since Lindgren handling the puck is an automatic turnover and the Rangers like to cycle on the outside looking for lanes.

Think it's just a case of the game getting even faster and players getting a little left behind.

The contract extension he needs this offseason. That's it. We have better more important players to pay very soon. Including 2-3 defenseman depending on how you see Gustafsson's Ranger future.

It’s not even that you’re wrong here. But it’s a different era and there is a salary cap and lindgren already makes what he should. Giving a guy with zero skill, that has limped to the finish line each of the past few seasons (will only get worse) top pair money is not smart. Beuke was built like a freight train and even he broke down eventually. Lindgren is 5’11 at best maybe 180 pds. Gets abused every game. Guys line up to bury him into next week. Anything long term for him is nuts.

That’s before I even point out he can’t make a simple play and Fox might be even better with a legit player next to him

For me it's not that I'm anti-Lindgren, it's that I am concerned about his next contract. He will rightly point to his TOI and opportunities he is getting as Fox's partner to negotiate his next deal. With that being part of the discussion, I see him as a good bottom-pairing guy. I'm not enamored with paying him $3.5-4m per season

At the end of preseason, people were probably posting this exact thing but reversing the names. Also, the hit did nothing. That was the immediate reaction from the whining about Kakko crowd. The ice was terrible that game.

Hopefully he comes back and resets.
