Sorry, I meant borderline in that it might have been called a major. He had Gostbiere(sp?) lined up from 5 strides away.

Overall, my comment was really about the 4 or 5 significant moments - not trying to add up all 60 minutes and put them on a balancing scale. Rangers track record this year has been to have nearly every big moment be a call against them.

He glided over to him and hit him.

It was in the numbers and was 100% boarding, but it’s not a major.

Kostin got 2 for jumping Cuylle where he dropped his gloves and actually got a few licks in. If anything was deserving of 5 that was it (I was fine with the 2 for that as well.)

They never give one guy 5 for that. At best it would 5 for both and then the extra 2 for instigating which amounts to the same thing

Judging on their perf up to this point, a guy like Lindgren is needed in the play offs way more than a guy like Miller.

I couldnt disagree with this more. Miller is the exact type of big rangy defenseman that are invaluable in the playoffs. Lindgren is usually hurt when we get to that point in the season

Gostisbehere is a veteran and played the puck lazily. It wasn't late and it wasn't boarding. Ghost bear just didnt protect himself and bounced his head off the glass. Matt Martin concussed Trouba that same way in 2021 and it wasnt even called a penalty.

The true insult to the injury (lol literally) would be if Raymond got 2 min for holding Cuylle’s stick.

The Rangers for once getting a fair shake from the refs doesn’t not constitute that they somehow benefited even if it feels this way.

Grabbing the stick is literally a penalty so it should've been 2 against Raymond. After that the Redwings just pretended to get sniped all of the ice. My favorite was DeBrincat getting tossed like a toddler by Kreider and then playing dead hoping for a call.

Remember when the rangers went on their run to the ECF 2 years ago?

Guess who led the D in 5v5 ice time while handling those minutes more than well?

It wasn’t Lindgren (who to his credit, performed well too while hurt. Made up for what was a pretty shit regular season.)

Nah I think kostin should have gotten an instigator there. He jumped Cuylle who didn’t have time to protect himself.

But whatever.

I'm 99% sure Vesey's goal was illegal but we've earned it after all the kick-in bullshit the past few seasons.

People have complained that Zibanejad hasn't gotten enough even strength offense- but he's +8 on the season. So it's likely that he's not giving up much in terms of opposing offense when he's on the ice either.

If Guenzel's counted in that playoff series, Vesey's sure as shit should count too.

The Mika line's offensive struggles have been completely self inflicted by him and Kreider playing paddy cake. Defensively they've given the other team nothing all year. If you can play good D as a baseline, it's easier to overlook a slow start production wise

Last night's 3rd period comeback was moist, tender and succulent. And also after I said in the 2nd period that they were never going to score again.

How long are we going to cycle different guys in that line before realizing that Kreider and Mika should be separated?

You might be right but at the moment with our current roster construction I don't think there is a viable option. You're not going to mess with 10, 16, 13. Are you moving Cuylle up and Kreider down?

Panarin got 2 for roughing with a highish hit. I just dont see how dropping your gloves and punching someone is the same thing.

I guess you're right, until either Chytil or Kakko comes back there are not many options. But I think Lavy should see by now that something needs to be done to that first line, and they've tried two different RW already.

I think I still move Trocheck down when chytil is ready. He’s cooled a bit I think the magic is bread and laf. Think Chytil would thrive there still.

Trocheck on a line with Cuylle just makes more sense to me in style than Cuylle and Chytil.

Kreider-Trochek should be a duo in my mind. I think they would do well together. That would leave Cuylle and Wheeler (likely as I am assuming Vesey would also be on the Trochek line) which seems like a tall order for Zibenajed.

The Rick Nash argument. He is on one of the team's biggest contracts handed out to produce on offense. Results count in the end. He's getting on the scoresheet more, so that's good.
