Puljujarvi just signed a try-out to Charlotte Checkers. I think if we're still trying to re-live the Finland Team WJC 2016 thing, let's just try doing it with Aho and Rantanen.

Evans wouldn't be bad but I still would prefer someone like Kuzy from last season that has a chance to play up the lineup. Evans looked like that earlier this year but only has 4 points in his last 20 games. I fear Montreal will try to extract a price that matches his early season production rather than what he's been most of his career.

Evans would be expensive to acquire in trade (I'd imagine a 2nd rounder + kind of return). He'd also ask for a relatively overpaid contract. I'd rather just go with what we have and try to re-sign Robinson, for example. Or, I'd trust the Borg to find a 4C quality player who will earn Rod's trust. The Walker, Ghost, Robinson, Roslovic signings this past offseason generally fit the bill for what the team needs, and all of them are more difficult to find roles in free agency than 4th line centers.

After writing this post on the main board I’ve convinced myself (no sarcasm) that the Canes should pick up some scumbag like Nick Cousins or Conor Garland.

For all the analytics this team talks about, the one thing they’ve never moneypucked is playoff officiating.

Throw Ottawa a 7th for Cousins. Sit him in the press box for the first four games. When we get to the part where nobody calls anything, scratch some scrub like Jost and insert Cousins to run around doing whatever the hell he wants for the rest of the series. Analytics say this is how we get away with bullshit and win series we shouldn’t win.

Or just run someone when we get f***ed on the inevitable called back call or injured player with no recourse. Id pay a 7th to ruin someone's superstar who ruined ours and Im not the least bit sorry.
