Well, I don't feel a sense of ownership or identity tied to those entertainment products unless I was involved in making them? It's funny because I often draw the same comparisons you made to illustrate why I think it's stupid when people morally judge other fanbases for not being "good fans" -- market demand is dictated by economics, whether it's McDonald' or a sports team.

However, I do think it's condescending to say sports fans have no lives for feeling a sense of identity towards their team (and by extension feeling somewhat letdown or embarrassed). Having a life doesn't mean you need to be a Vulcan. The problem is obviously when people are way too emotionally invested to the point that they become depressed or lose sleep over it.

Also I have done that to people and had it happen to me, not to mention seen it happen to others. Not to mention it happens in the NHL.

Also it's not just that incident, how many tantrums has Brady thrown in the last minutes after we're down multiple goals? That's what's embarrassing.

Cool maybe it's just me.

I remember being proud of being a Sens fan in the early 2000s cause we just so damn good, in the late 2000s because of Alfredsson even though we were falling off. And I remember being proud of the 2011 to 2017 Sens because even though we were mediocre the team was pesky and never gave up.

Hard to be proud of this current team. What is the opposite of being proud? Embarrassed? Sounds about right.

He has 4 years on his contract after this one. Last 3 have a NMC. (Brady makes 10.5m per year x 3 years)

This year , no playoffs; Unless they get get moving or have a tremendous off season; next season I wouldn't bet on
If the team can become and remain a playoff team after that I think he'd stay ; If the team is still borderline .. he'll be gone

This org has a lot of work to do to get us in that upper tier of teams.

no otherwise i would be pushing for drake as captain too.

i take into account which players are most committed to winning and setting a good example.

when players are trash defensively in effort, when they whine and throw tantrums i don't consider them that committed to winning no matter the skill level.

they could be be McDavid and I wouldn't want them captain.

Zub as a captain is an interesting idea, maybe when he learns English better.
