Yep I’d be pissed as well if a goalie took out my feet, tried a poke check that wasn’t going anywhere in the direction of the puck, just at my far side skate, which sent me flying into the boards.
If he scored doesn’t matter at that point, I’m still angry.

Is that the only example you can think of this season where Brady let his emotions get the best of him?

Keep laughing…

You have to dig pretty deep to find a way to blame or include Brady in the blame for where this team is right now.

Does Brady let his emotions get the best of him from time to time yes.. He isn't perfect . He has lapses. But he is far from the reason for where we are now.

I like Brady. I'm glad he plays here. I am happy to criticize his play periodically.

Look no further than Pierre Dorion if you want to know how we got here. There are a boatload of decisions from 2017 on that prove how over his head he was and we have all the fruits of his labor.

The problem with Brady is that he plays like he is 50 goal 120 points scorer and that he can get away with just playing offense only and still help the team.

He can't, it hurts his linemates and his team!

And even the guys who do get 50 goals and 120 points play defense with more focus and backcheck harder!

There is no way a team will win the cup with a player leaving his teammates hanging out to dry like that, let alone when that player plays on the first line and is the captain and supposed to be setting an example.

Also I'm talking about the cup but it's turning out that a team led like that can't even make the playoffs despite being stacked with insane amount of talent.

Brady plays like wins and the playoffs and the cups will just be handed to him. And the team follows his lead.

Well make a list then, of your examples.
Take Brady every day, over some of the quiet captains with no emotion, like Tavares.

Already mentioned calling out the fans which apparently is OK in your eyes I assume.

Off the top of my head, he lost his shit against Alex Tuch late in the game and narrowly avoided a suspension. We can talk about reasoning but Tuch got what he wanted, which is conversely what I thought Brady would be doing more of. He also continues to fight scrubs to wake up his team (like in STL) but he’s not an enforcer and I have yet to see it actually ‘wake up’ the team. If he breaks his hand, how are we feeling?

On the last comment, you know who else was a quiet leader? Alfie. And to be clear, I’m not saying Brady needs to be a quiet leader but let’s not pretend there is only one way to lead (and even then, what has Brady done to garner confidence in his abilities? Tavares and Alfie’s teams actually win and made the playoffs.)

Brady seemingly wants to keep the good vibes and country club atmosphere with DJ going versus holding the team (and himself) more accountable (go back to pointing the finger at the fan base versus himself)

Don't forget that many fans were calling for Alfie to be traded when he was captain of the Sens. His status as a great captain came after the 07 finals run.

Brady 'calling out the fans' is so overblown. Any captain is going to support his coach in the room.

Certainly not the problem with this team. His play at times warrants criticism, no doubt about it. He can be more committed defensively and control his emotions better.

I wholeheartedly disagree with the bolded part. I didn’t see anyone else react the way Brady did this season when fans have booed their team off the ice (it wasn’t just about defending the coach)

The rest of your post, I agree with. I do remember fans wanting Alfie to be traded after losing to buffalo in ‘06. There’s always chance for redemption and I hope Brady also improves and redeems himself. He definitely needs to get better playing both ends of the ice and keeping his emotions in check.

I suspect some of the embarrassment some fans feel is from losing. Had we won they would be setting up threads in the main boards bragging about Brady's actions.

And is sure seemed to me that Brady was upset at fans for suggesting the coach needed to be fired and he was standing up for him. Like a good captain.

He also references constant booing and that they’re trying hard till the very end and that fans shouldn’t turn their backs on the team…this was t just about defending DJ against chants calling for his head

For contrast, here’s a non-captain’s response to fans booing the team

For me, as a fan, I'm not hurt in the least by Brady defending his team and coach. You can see the emotions. Players know they have underperformed expectations.

Just not really on my personal radar as an issue of leadership. Their are so many roster construction, coaching, depth, and player performance issues on this team that need solving.

Most players including Giroux said nothing. That's the problem. Norris, Batherson and Chabot are all older than Brady yet they( especially the former two) say nothing at all. It's left to Brady to defend the team and his coach on a constant basis.
As for Brady defending his coach look what happened to Jordan Kyrou after Craig Berube was fired. He basically said he was moving on and the fan base roasted him for it.

I’ll speak for myself but I’m not saying it is because of Brady we’re here. I’ve been vocal form the get-go of the piss poor job Pierre Dorion and DJ Smith have done, and the next move is to get DJ Smtih out.

That said, Brady is sure as shit not helping and in fact I see a regression in his maturity and dealing with regular season challenges. There are plenty of imperfect players who aren’t calling out the fans for booing their team while their play is piss poor or publicly defending a coach from scrutiny who hasn’t done shit compared to his peers for now a 5th season in a row.

He needs to grow up fast, because when this team finally gets going, we need him to be able to put the team on his back, not lose his composure all the time because some scrub gets under his skin
Would have been cool if there was somebody on the team to teach/help him. A veteran there for the rebuild. LA kept Dowdy and Kopitar. I mean...we did have Zaitsev. Not picking an argument here. Giroux got here last year. I bet the only reason G said anything about the Booing was to deflect from Brady. We should have kept one of Karl, Stone or Pager. It is what it is. We will get through this my green friend. Lol.

When Alfredsson lost his cool you know it meant something.

When Brady loses his cool do you actually think it means anything to his teammates?

At this point i think they just roll their eyes.
Brady leads team in takeaways, and second on team in takeaways giveaway’s differential, behind Joseph.
You sure exaggerate a lot, at how bad he is.

No I have said many times that Brady is one of the best puck winners in the NHL. I have said that he might be one of the best players in the NHL below the hashmarks.

Is that exaggeration too?

My problem is that he only tries in one zone. That is a crazy bad flaw for any player but especially for an NHL captain.

He fixes his defensive effort and he would be much more complete forward and a much better captain.

The first line line would be more effective and his teammates would have more motivation to focus defensively and give more effort, if the team would play better defensively they would win more games, they win more games and they would make the playoffs, they make the playoffs they might win a cup.

It's crazy that you guys think that his teammates watch a 8.3 mill 24 year old captain cherry pick all day for breakaways not even finish them at a good rate and then be lazy on the back check and think they take good examples from that.

And that's not even getting into the tantrums.

Takeaways and giveaways occur in all 3 zones, not just one.

Brady is instructed to be F1, when he is on the ice. Agree most of the team needs to better defensively, with a few exceptions.

Brady is in no position to show his displeasure with the fans

The only thing he should be unhappy about and worry about is his own game and his Team's record who he is pretending to lead

lol, he didn’t come here for a retirement contract.
Go listen to his interviews, when he signed.
Who cares about interviews? They say what's required.

Can you explain why he's never played for Canada after the WJC in 2008?

He totally came here to retire. Watch him now. He doesn't give a shit about the Tkachuk and Stutzle antics.

I wouldn't be bothered either. Let these idiots act like morons on their own.

It doesn't make him a bad person. He just recognizes the situation he's entered in to.

Giroux definitely checked out.

remember how fired he used to get last year when he still had hope? none of that now, he knows he's playing with spoiled college fratboys.

I see a tweet that Brady was at the ufc with Stone. I can’t wait to see him go to Florida or Vegas after his contract

If we miss the playoffs again next year, you might not have to wait until after his contract. NMC starts 2025. Soft trade request next season if it's still a shit show, knowing that the Sens have that 2025 deadline to move him or lose all leverage.

It will be a team like Chicago who gets him. They will have all the assets and cap space to get it done.

This upcoming offseason is probably the most important since 2018. If they fail to make the playoffs again, let alone have another embarrassing season, it's going to be very difficult to fix things with this core.

But I thought that since we haven’t asked G personally. that we don’t know.

Yet you use language that indicates that you know what he’s thinking.

It’s all very confusing. Seems like the last straw was him putting a neck guard on though…
