It's amazing how many blindly follow Dubas. Mitch too. Above the team to someBased on this being a public board and people have different opinions.

Well, he'll make us tougher, that's for sure. Lucic and Perry is a real possibility.
That’s Calgary, not Toronto. Players said they didn’t want to be there. The players have said they want to be here. Different story.Treliving loses one fo the core to free agency, trades on the young players for two overrated players, signs them to insane contracts and then they miss the playoffs. That could also happen.
Well in Calgary the team didn't invest in analytics and player development like us so to people who think he's against all that is just wrong. He wanted it in Calgary but ownership wouldn't put it in the budget. We're going from full data to data-curious
Kadri until 38/39 and putting up 56 pts in year one? Oof. 6 more years.
UFA til 38 with a NMC
So one is signed through their prime, the other is not.
Or are you now making a case that the Tavares signing is good?
Did Tavares score 115 points in a season prior to his UFA deal?
No?
Again, you're struggling with very basic facts.

And yet no hometown discounts, with the exception of maybe JT.That’s Calgary, not Toronto. Players said they didn’t want to be there. The players have said they want to be here. Different story.
That was his bounce back. Hes always been a mid 50s pt center. Theres a lot of value in that, im just not sure its a top 6 role at 7M/yr into his late 30s7M cap hit. He'll bounce back, same for Markstorm. That whole team stunk.
Treliving draft record from 2014 to 2016 included Matthew Tkachuk and Sam Bennett both playing for the Stanley Cup and well as Norris Dman Adam Fox.

Ah yes, 1 year of amazing work, pay the man.
Of course its a lateral moveAintnoway people are defending some of those contracts in Calgary lol. Going to be a long few years, the entire dubas hater regime will just twist and move the goal posts to make it seem like treliving can do no wrong. It's already started and he hasn't even been officially hired yet lol. This is literally a lateral move at best, I haven't seen a single post of why treliving was a better gm vs. Dubas yet, other than posting a draft from 8 years ago. Usually when you make big moves like this, you upgrade a position not make it a sideways change at best.
If he can negotiate for itIf we win the cup next year, does Dubas get a complimentary ring?
I'm not anti- Dregs or anything, but I do take all these "insiders" with a grain of salt. Except Bobby Mac, him I'd have believed straight up. Too much room in the statement for, something moved the needle late Wednesday, stay tuned. I'm sure it's accurate that Treliving is a leading candidate, but reserving judgement until further notice. It's definitely a bit underwhelming that Shanahan didn't seem to undergo a particularly extensive search. Felt more like the name was picked before a search even started. Trevling was the only one actually invited to Toronto - the others seemed like courtesy chats over zoom/the phone.
What's done is done though. Hope for the best that Treliving can hit the ground running
Weeger you could probably convince me is OK. But Huberdeau like you pointed out is horrible, unless he converts to a 90+ point winger, which he has done twice in his career. And even then, it's not a 'good' contract. No issues with any of those contracts other than Huberdeau.
