Even with all those, Pitts is a s*** hole to live in
You park your car for 10 mins and your tires are gone , in broad day light
There's nothing good about that city when you leave the rink

Jackass left a golden opportunity in Toronto by asking for more money and more autonomy when he was a nobody and got handed the keys to the gold standard franchise in the NHL.

Enjoy Pitt Dubie. Im sure you family will enjoy the good long walks there.

Treliving spent 9 years building a team that missed the playoffs.

The Brad Trevliving managed Calgary Flames in 2022-23 finished with more points in the regular season then Stanley Cup finalist Florida Panthers did. :wg:

If the Flames and Panthers switched conferences who made and who missed the playoffs would be opposite.

Instead it was the GM that changed conferences and its easier to make the playoffs in the East. :)

The funny thing is that if Dubas had the patience, the President job here would have been his within 1-2 years.

He wanted it now, and wasn't ready to wait, so I hope he finds whatever he's looking for elsewhere, and he takes his entitled cronies with him.

I find his character lacking and we deserve someone better, both at their job and in character.

I meant cheer for this contending team (our Leafs)
Oh.

That thought never occured to me.

Mainly because I don't consider the Leafs a contender.

I'd really like to live vicariously though my favourite team. It just isn't much fun to do when they keep losing. So I'll continue to enjoy watching a mediocre hometown team I guess.

Hope for better days ahead.

The "they care deeply" quotes were getting tiresome and hollow

I didn't expect him to say anything different that what's been said
It's almost like a template, I want to thank the organization, team, former GM
Believes in current staff and players

I wish someone would come out and say, F u all, this is a failure organization, we need to make changes
Coach is not good enough
prospect pool is not good enough

We need to torch the current coaching staff
The person who could do that would become instantly loved by this fanbase, at least for a little while.

Was he gifted Matthews, Marner, Reilly and Willy. Did he have unlimited resources at his disposal like Dubas………I think not
They spent aggressively under the cap for his duration there. He also spent 56% of his cap space on forwards, and had autonomy to make plenty of trades.

Let's stop pretending like he had an Arizona Coyotes budget, 0 resources, and no power.

That is pretty par for the course actually that a GM with insider knowledge of Calgary draft lists and rankings, would be limited to direct the Leafs draft.

Its not only about the late round picks. .What if Leafs traded a player for a high pick and then Treliving directed the Leafs to take a player high on Flames draft board etc.,

What I think Treliving will be allowed to do is direct the scouting team into types or players he is looking for without naming names, or say put defenseman at higher emphasis to put more players into the prospect position at that position. He could tell his scouts he is looking to play a big heavy game so find me more players like Knies and less small skilled player for example.
In one draft yr he had 4 picks
He drafted
Tkachuk
Dude
Fox
3 out of 4 wow

If Shanahan is the gatekeeper on half the moves, he's accountable for all the moves.

Treliving a glorified yes man.
So Shanny says his philosophy is that its ultimately the gms decision and it was when Dubas was here as well and you took from that that brads a yes man?

Pridham and Treliving have a strong relationship, bodes well, because let’s not kid ourselves this guy was every bit as important as Dubie.
I'd say closer to the truth is "this guy was every bit as important" because of Dubie's bad negotiations.........

Presser is vanilla pap. We learned nothing.

I don't know man. His "you gotta check to win" comment was pretty telling to me at least. Basically, your play without the puck should be as good or better than your play with the puck.

As much as I LOVE Willy; his play without the puck leaves a lot to be desired.

To me basically the B-man is saying if you are not playing well enough without the puck chances are you won't be a Leaf
