San Jose got more for Walman than we did for Marchand. Walman, who Detroit paid a 2nd rounder just to get rid of less than a year ago.

Not mad they traded him to a contender. But the return is not even remotely worth it to me. That’s what I’m mad about. Like I said, other trades today I can get behind, but this one i hate
A injured 36 year old on an expiring contract with a limited NTC clause - realistically what did you really expect to get back for that ?

That condition on Marchand playing in the playoff games is in there for a reason…dudes very injured rn. Ugly, awkward hit he took.

I bet the limited NTC didn’t even really impact this, they probably asked him where he specifically wanted to go and made it work

For certain , no way Donnie would trade him to a division rival , this was what Marchy wanted when they couldn't reach a deal to resign here .

And I have no grudge against Marchy for picking Fla , its part of the business and good on Donnie for getting something out of it. Also keep in mind Brad could have waited till Jul 1 and then bolted so respect goes both ways here.

Sunshine Rat Pack
Zero issue with Sunshine Superman.

They beat your Boston Bruins up one side and down the other. Accept it.

One thing is clear, as noted by NEHJ editor Evan Maranofsky yesterday: the Panthers are not in Boston's head. They are not our supposed greatest rival.

No one is.

The team Don Sweeney constructed to counteract Florida this past offseason, obviously, is gone.

("Let the healing begin," as the old Jergen's hand lotion ad had it.

(And if I could find that f" cking commercial, I would post it too.)

Niles to Frasier, "But let's stick to obtainable goals."

THANK YOU BRAD, BRANDO & CHARLIE.

GOOD LUCK AND GODSPEED,

✌️❤️

It would be interesting if he didn't play a single game for them and then went back to Boston lol.

I mean, that would be bad from a "he's hurt pretty bad" standpoint, but it would be pretty funny otherwise.

The only thing that bothers me was Sweeney discussing the conditions of the pick in his presser. He clearly stated Marchand needs to play 25% of games in the first two rounds. We find out after it is 50% and they need to win two rounds. Why the deception? Am I to believe he didn't actually know, or did he just not want backlash from the press? It just wasn't a good look.

Was about 20 minutes left in the deadline and I just thought of all the player movement and how one team stood out who haven't taken advantage of their sudden cap-space.

I turned to my son said "if he goes anywhere it could very well be Florida as a rental".

When it was announced I cheered....then felt instant regret. My daughter's shed some tears
*Happy for him getting another shot.
*He'll be on a team where he's surrounded by leaders.

Florida didn't give up too too much because as mentioned before Marchy is just a rental. That's all. I'd be 50.1% sure next year he'll be back with us.

As for management...I think Cam and Don are done and they've likely have already been told.
The moves they made were extreme and unprecedented. They were likely instructed to move Frederic, Coyle, Marchy, Braz and Carlo, 5 fulltime guys as their last cigarette before the firing squad lines up .
New management with a new approach is coming.

I doubt your take on management very much. Sweeney didn't look or sound like a dead man walking in his press conference, in fact he sounded very much in charge of "finding the next wave" to bring the team back to contention.

This was bizarre. I don't think they negotiated much with Florida at all.

Not a chance they are letting Sweeney make those moves and then firing him when the season ends.

Now Marchand I can see returning.

I was guessing 2nd or maybe 3rd rounder plus lower end prospect so I'm pretty happy with the return. Since we're out, I'll be watching the Panthers these playoffs.

I doubt he'll come back, my guess is if he should win another cup he'll retire, if not probably stay with the Panthers. We may not be sniffing the playoffs for a couple years anyways.

Feel bad for Pasta. Hopefully he'll have chemistry with Mitts
I think he keeps playing, if his body lets him lol. He's on record saying he wants to play till he hits 40. Im thinking if no one pays what he's looking for in term and money wise, he'll be back or even if its only a little bit more. Plus there's already a sweater with his name on it , that also occupies the C.

I'm trying to piece things together and make sense of it all.
I had in mind that Frederic, yes, 100% gone then maybe 1 of the rumored other 4 going.
But all of them! At once! Plus some being sent to perhaps 2 of our main rivals in the conference .
Just seems to weird.

As I said...just making sense of it all. These moves were extreme, maybe overkill, but definitely not the way the Bruins generally do business. One can say year started out that way.
