It’s funny on how different people react to things.

We had a few students saying after school and I was getting ready to head out. One of them is a Bruins fan and I went over and told him about the trades and he looked like he was about to cry.

I remember those days.

Part of me is sad that I’ll never be able to see sports through the lens of a child again.
The trade that killed me was my all time fav Joe Juneau for some fat bald dude when I was 8/9 years old.

Now I'm a fat bald alcoholic the trade doesn't seem as bad but still. Rosie and Joe Juneau will always be my favs.

People are overlooking the fact that he is giving Marchand a chance to win another Cup(which he has earned), which won't be happening here for the remainder of his playing years.
And he could turn around and come back in FA.
All these moves had to happen.

37YO, Injured, NTC with short list of acceptable teams, UFA after the playoffs. They did well getting what the did.

I get your points and they surely are true, I also would add that Sweeney wanted to send Marchy to a nice place and not far away from his familiy but I still think this was Sweeneys worst deal because he traded a franchise legend, the captain and helped their biggest rival of the last two years. A conditional 1st for this just isn´t enough.

Trading our captain came as a complete shock for me today, I thought he would play his entire career with the Bruins. It really sucks it was to the Panthers - who I have had a Habs level of hate for in recent years. The hardest pill to swallow was the pathetic return.

I dont know how these clowns still have jobs after today. Beyond me.

I just don’t understand the hatred toward Sweeney trading Marchand. He gave him the courtesy of dictating where he wants to go. Marchand was injured and unlikely to return before playoffs. Bruins weren’t making the playoffs so essentially Marchand was done for the season.

Now Marchand has a chance to get healthy and play on a legit contender. I hope Florida wins the cup this season. I’m glad the Bruins have moved on and are looking toward the future.

And I’m in no way a Sweeney apologist. I’ve called for his head plenty of times this season, but you can’t deny he knocked it out of the park this trade deadline. He’s improved the future of this team. None of these trades he’s made today have hurt the future of this team. We needed to rebuild/re-tool and focus on next season. Not only did he acquire more draft picks, he’s added some prospects to the pool too.

San Jose got more for Walman than we did for Marchand. Walman, who Detroit paid a 2nd rounder just to get rid of less than a year ago.

Not mad they traded him to a contender. But the return is not even remotely worth it to me. That’s what I’m mad about. Like I said, other trades today I can get behind, but this one i hate

He’s an injured 37 YO pending UFA who picked his destination, no doy Walman did better he’s a youngish good defenseman with another year left

I hated that deal, Iafrate was a good player, but when the B's got him, he was often injured. Juneau was a speedy forward they should have kept.

He was in that teammu sellane 1.5 PPG as a rookie or something club.

The devil's killed hockey and Jacobs turned us into the Oakland As soon after but iafrate was f***ing garbage. He has a good skills competition once or something? Total scrub.

Thinking about the chances of Marchand coming back.

If the term from the Bruins isn't there now, then it's not going to be there if he comes back this summer. Right? Is he suddenly going to be okay with a year to year thing like Bergeron?

So maybe he really is done with the Bruins for good?

I guess we'll find out in a few months.

But if he does come back, is he the captain again?

So many questions lol

I was guessing 2nd or maybe 3rd rounder plus lower end prospect so I'm pretty happy with the return. Since we're out, I'll be watching the Panthers these playoffs.

I doubt he'll come back, my guess is if he should win another cup he'll retire, if not probably stay with the Panthers. We may not be sniffing the playoffs for a couple years anyways.

Feel bad for Pasta. Hopefully he'll have chemistry with Mitts

Oh man, I hate this. Marchand should've been a Bruin until the end of his career. Aww man, not happy at all.
I still think he will end his career as a Bruin. I expect him to be resigned in the off season . I think Marchand and the Bruins have already talked about this being a possibility . Today we deal with now . This give Marchand another chance at a cup and the Bruins another asset
