While you are at it can you hit Bernardi Honda North June 11, 2016 Natick about 8:45 am and go to a black Mazda CX-7 and pick up my transponder. I forgot to take it and been bothering me since

We like you so much that while you were injured playing for us, we moved you to another team (to demonstrate our commitment to you and make a statement for future free agent recruiting) and retained over $3M in salary (to prove our cap management prowess) for a speculative long future return likely to produce, like so many of our picks have been - como se dice - absolute clunkers. [I cleaned that up with an edit. The picks are garbage, people are not garbage]. If he asked out, I get it, but he publicly asked to stay. Only way this is clever is if he is back 1 July.

I think if he isn’t injured Brad fetches us more than a draft choice. Perhaps a higher one and a prospect. Meh. We shall see how it all pans out. Maybe he wanted out seeing he didn’t have it in him to miss the playoffs for a few years to come and one or two more shots at a Cup elsewhere. Having his two head coaches complain about him this year might have stung too. Enjoyed watching him play and maybe he comes back in the summer but I think he’s done. His play in the 2011 finals for me was legendary and he has turned into an exceptional leader. 👍

People might hate this but I’ll be cheering my lungs off for 63 and the Panthers this post season.

I get it, I really do, but I’ll support 63 through thick and thin.
I have Pavel Bure and Viktor Kozlov jerseys that I can dust off for the playoff run. Have refused to wear them because we’ve been good and have been matching up with the panthers in recent years, but hey we kinda suck now so who cares

I don’t really consider them a true rival, this isn’t like rooting for Montreal or Toronto. We had some wars that they won, it is what it is. I’d love for the Bruins to play their style and I’d love to see Marchand raise the cup again

This is Harry Sinden lowball bullshit. "Thank you Brad" is insulting.

I am disgusted reading that.

Brad played on one of the best bargain contracts in the league for the last 7+ years, and they still wanted to dicker him down to another cheap deal? $4.5M x 2 yrs is a great number for the team still. Shit, I would have still paid him $6M for all that he's done for the team.

Well he's going to get 6 on July 1st so it's a moot point.

I think we'll be better with these guys gone honestly.

Not a chance they are letting Sweeney make those moves and then firing him when the season ends.

Now Marchand I can see returning.
Maybe but if it's a rebuild how can anyone justify him being around?
I'm not saying your wrong but perhaps you can clarify on something....Neely last year was looking for an extension on Sweeney's contract. Did that ever happen? I can't find any info.
I overly can't find anything on Neely's contract either🤔

For me it’s always going to be a combination of your past results and “what are you going to do from here”?

After this disaster of a season, approaching the deadline, Sweeney could have stayed the course. He could have planned a roster shuffle, but waited for the offseason to create space on the roster. Instead, he maximized the assets trade value in tearing off the bandaid midseason.

This year has been a failure. But instead of doubling down on it and refusing to admit, he understood that changes were required and he made them at the best possible time.

What are you going to do from here? He’s done it. Or started it anyway. And it was masterful and it took a lot of humility and courage.

He stays.

For sure. They're a middle of the pack team who decided to deal it all off before becoming a bottom of the pack team. That takes some stones that you just don't see in the league much.

The only thing that bothers me was Sweeney discussing the conditions of the pick in his presser. He clearly stated Marchand needs to play 25% of games in the first two rounds. We find out after it is 50% and they need to win two rounds. Why the deception? Am I to believe he didn't actually know, or did he just not want backlash from the press? It just wasn't a good look.

I think it was a hickup about what was negotiated and he was wrongly remembering the final deal

After signing MBA Swayman, Zadorov and the ELindholm to massive contracts for way too much term, I think it's crazy we are quibbling over one year at such a low number for the captain, heart and soul of this team. If that's the truth, Sweeney needs to be fired. Actually, fire the whole front office, and the scouts (for their inability to draft over the last 12 years).

Shocking take from you.
