Boll isn't that great defensively though. Neither was Dorsett.
Just because a player is physical or plays hard, that doesn't mean they are good defensively.
Also, skill players don't always disappear when it gets tough. What is this, Don Cherry time? Players like Dorsett are a symptom of a lack of depth, not because they are some important piece.
Goals are how you win games, meanwhile words like "spunk" and "grit" are sports slang for "not actually good enough."
See, this is where I really disagree. The roles that Dorsett and Boll play are real hockey, NHL grade roles. They aren't filling in for spots that would ideally taken by skill players, they are filling roles that need to be filled to ice a competitive team.
In other words, players like Dorsett are no way a symptom of a lack of depth. That's one-dimensional.
