Yes, yes — but I heard on one of the podcasts I listen to that there’s talk that the CFL will let the Lions restructure his contract so he’s making $500k plus next season, instead of whatever this rookie contract is (I think they said it’s $80k?). I guess the idea is he’d be more likely to stay here as a star and making $500k+ compared to sitting on a practice squad and making whatever it is they make (I think $250k? I could be wrong).
Ah I misunderstood. Yeah PR guys are like 175k-300k iirc. But obviously getting on a roster blows that out of the water. If Rourke leaves, he'll have promised at least a chance of making a 53, IMO. It's not a Streveler situation where just needed tape so he could get into 6 games for pension purposes. If Rourkes not gonna get at least a verbal promise that he will have a chance at a roster, I think he stays, money or not, I don't think that'd make much difference this off-season. That discussion would be more interesting if he gets cut from NFL.

Have you guys been to downtown Wpg. lately? We've got nothing to brag about.
I won't stand for Winnipeg slander!

Real talk, me and the wife are applying for work in Cape Breton. Could be a big move back to her home, from Calgary where we are now. I legit had a very real dream of we got the jobs and I went to a Bomber game, which I presumed in my dream was the last time I'd be at IGF. On the way out of the Stadium after the game, I was legit in tears in my dream thinking I'd never be back to see the Bombers again.

The grass isn't always greener. I always look back at the first 17 years of my life as a Winnipegger with great fondness and love. Don't take going to IGF and the arena for granted. I wish I could go more than I do now.

Lots and lots of chatter of NFL changing the QB rule next year to have each team dress 3 due to the concussion rules. So if that happens that's probably 20ish spots opening up next year

Wow, that would be a huge break for a lot of guys on the bubble.

If Rourke ends up staying in the CFL though for whatever reason, I wonder how deep Doman will dig into his pockets to sign him?

As a life-long Winnipeger (actually just a tad north in St. Andrews) of more than 70 years (I started following the Bombers in 1957.), I know the city pretty well and, in my opinion, Winnipeg is a city in decline. The decline has been going on for decades and was helped out by a previous mayor who did not raise property taxes for, what, 8 years and encouraged suburban sprawl. Anyway, apologies for the politics.

Good luck with your potential opportunities in Cape Breton, a beautiful part of the country.

I've got all sorts of friends and family in Calgary including my only grandchildren. We've been tempted to move but something about this place in spite of it's "aches and pains" keeps us here.

Cheers.

They got TSNed.

We see this phenomenon a lot when it comes to Torontonians and their local hockey club, the Maple Leafs. TSN, Sportsnet, and the local and national sports media goes on and on and on about how great the team is, routinely overestimating the prowess of the team and its players. This creates lofty, often unreasonable, expectations for the team from their fans.

TSN has been beating the same drum for so long regarding a certain quarterback, it’s not surprising you observed some Lions fans exhibiting symptoms of TSNitis.

As such, I’ve also already seen some suggesting they’re heavy favourites for next year’s Grey Cup, and that it is pretty likely they’ll be looking for back-to-back championships on home field in the 2024 Grey Cup.
LOL!
Until someone actually beats the Bombers, they are the champs.
TSN is terrible at promoting the CFL.
The Toronto Sports Network cannot get out of their own way.
There is a reason I cancelled my TV cable connection.
After Grey Cup I cancel my TSN direct subscription until the beginning of next CFL season.
I wish I could pay the CFL directly to watch their games instead of TSN.

I've got no issue with this if it keeps Rourke in the CFL. The CFL needs stars like Rourke in the league to keep growing.

I've gone from concerned to very concerned with ZC, his walk looks fine but can he run and cut, how much pain does he have.
It’s a concern, but I wouldn’t be too worried. Walking without a limp and no walking boot is an encouraging sign. Not much we can do anyway. I think we’ll see a lot of Prukop on Sunday regardless Zach’s status.

Apart from 2 int's in BC Brown played not to bad behind a line that was missing 3/5's, if he does play that experience should help him, that a great running game
