Jesus H. Christ, again with this "deserve" argument. Give me a ****ing break.

I didn't say the team didn't deserve it, if they win, those players earned it. That city don't support the team, simple as that. Look at how indifferent they were the season right after winning the Cup. They were doing a buy one, get one free promo for season tickets.

The majority of people in Anaheim forgot they had a Cup winning team. They'd rather attend Angels games and talk about Mike Trout.

Agreed as this "deserve" stuff is something I expect to hear more from Canada or most parts of the Northern United States and not from place that has a sunbelt team seeing that such places are still the target of such talk that comes from those who are a relocationist. Most teams can't sellout their building consistently through the best of times and the worst of times. The people will go as long as great ownership and a championship contending team are in place. Of course, it helps if other teams in the same metro area aren't doing great as well if one happens to be in a place where hockey isn't the #1 sport.

I bet some of us Kings fans know more about the Ducks and their history than over 50% of those Ducks "fans" attending their games.

They've probably never heard of Randy Ladoucer or Tim Sweeney or Joe Sacco, Troy Loney, Todd Ewen, etc. Or those fun Stu Grimson scraps where he absolutely demolished Phil Crowe. And Dave Karpa always getting under the Kings' skin (a player the Ducks were actually smart about picking up after the Kings' dumbass medical staff deemed him unfit to pass his physical, thus voiding the deal McMaster had made with the Nordiques).

Anyhow, I admire how the Ducks are playing, I just don't think those "fans" deserve that team. They struggle to fill that building during the regular season. Here's hoping we don't see another embarrassing Cup parade in a friggin' parking lot.

I was out in Southern California around the Ducks home opener for the 2007-2008 season. I saw plenty of support all around, even in LA County. The season tickets were sold out and a waitlist was available. Things when to **** overtime for the Ducks as a result of Brian Burke and it didn't help matters when the owner was in hot water with the law. As Warren Buffett once said, "It takes 20 years to build a reputation and five minutes to ruin it."

As far as the parade comment goes. Last I checked, Anaheim isn't a city like Los Angeles or New York with plenty of tall buildings to have a ticker tape parade. The Angels from what I remember had their celebration back in 2002, not in the streets of Anaheim strolling though downtown, but at Disneyland. The Ducks didn't have a celebration at Disneyland since they're not owned by Disney anymore. Also, the Ducks aren't the only team to have a cup celebration in a parking lot.

I went to that game. My Dad worked in Brea at the time and had been buying Kings mini-packs since Gretzky had arrived. He thought it would be great to be a little closer to home and watch hockey. He wasn't really a Kings fan (we're from Michigan). Then we went to that game and I think he might have regretted getting the tickets shortly after. My Mom actually mentioned this on Mother's Day as we were watching hockey. She said she still has that stupid horn thing they gave out to everyone. Now those were a horrible idea!

I also remember going to the Bullfrogs and Blades games during my high school years (94-98).

Cool story, Joe!

The Angels had a parade from the pond to Angel Stadium. I worked in Orange at the time and watched from my office building. The Angels winning was a much bigger deal. The team is still reaping the benefits of that. I was going to a lot of games in the late 80's and early 90's and they could barely fill half the stadium.

If Perry is healthy, I think we are going to find out how many attended the 2015 parade.

In any event, this is weak. Weak as Schlitz Light Beer used to be.

You can make these kinds of arguments for any team in the league, including Toronto (the fans don't deserve a winning team because they throw jerseys onto the ice).

Chicago (the fans don't deserve a Cup because they didn't support the team through the lean years).

And on and on. All weak arguments, all nonsense.

Looks like the Angeles had 2 parades then and that included Disneyland. Still though, where does hockey rank overall in the United States? Baseball, Football, and Basketball are still more popular than hockey here in the United States.

I just don't want the ducks to win becuase I like having one more cup over them. Same with the lightening.
LA will never catch the hawks/rangers/habs for championships so I hope one of those three win

Certainly won't happen with that attitude!

I'm sure Lakers fans said the same about Boston back then.

ok catch them in my lifetime or in tmeframe in my life where I beak with other fan bases and can use the hole "we have won more cups than you"

Kings are 3 away from catching up Chicago, and 2 away from New York.

It can happen. Never say never.
