GDT: Blackhawks vs. Ducks - Who Wins?

I really don't want the Hawks getting to 3. Especially if it doesn't go through the Kings. Especially in a year when the Kings didn't make it. I am in no way rooting for the Ducks, but they keep playing teams that I wouldn't mind seeing them beat. It's very annoying.

After Chicago got things figured out after the first couple games against Nashville, they really haven't been in trouble. The Ducks, sort of the same thing. They've been down a few times during a game, but never out of a game. Neither team has obviously played anyone so far quite like each other. It has the potential to be up there with the Kings/Hawks series last year, but, we'll see how it goes.

I'll say Hawks in 6, but I don't want to.

Fixed it for ya Ron.

Just learned that polls are a PITA to edit.

Yeah, I believe it.

Thanks, but just in case my vote automatically went for "Ducks in 4" I most certainly don't believe that. I think they take it in 6, actually.

Anaheim really isn't that good. They've just played two weak teams. Hawks in 5 or 6.

I voted Chicago in 6 but really think that could be generous to the ducks.
Chicago has more depth at forward
Chicago has better d-men but wit h Rosival out Anaheim is deeper
I think I would rather have Crawford in net then Anderson as well.

I've watched Ducks games. They got nothing on the Blackhawks.

Both hit-and-run posts without any meat on them.

The Ducks not only beat WPG and CGY convincingly, they manhandled them, especially CGY. You never got the feeling that MIN was going to do anything with CHI, but CHI looked shaky at times against NSH.

Andersen has been much more consistent in goal than Crawford, but Crawford showed his mettle in settling down against MIN.

There is no one like Kane in the entire league. He may very well be the difference maker in this series, but I think ANAs depth is going to be the absolute difference in the end.

Hawks in 6.. Again WCF is for the cup. Hawks will have to do some dismantling after this year. 21 Million of Toews and Kane, they are gonna need to play 35 minutes plus a game next year:laugh:

It's going to be a great series. I have Chicago in 7 games.

Anaheim can win it though with their superior depth down the middle and on defense, just like the Kings did last year.

We all lose.

No way. We all win. This is gonna be the best series all season, just like Kings-Blackhawks last year. To me that's already a classic. I hope this one will be every bit as good. I don't care who wins, but I'm hoping it goes seven games.

I could see Tampa, rangers or caps matching up decently against the hawks (just going to assume they get by the ducks)

Rangers matched up decently against the Kings last year too, especially after playing 3 7 games series..

In the end certain teams find a way to win. Ducks are pretty clutch 3rd period - O/T team anybody not think they were going to win last night when they tied it up in the 3rd. And the Hawks are the Hawks, they tend to win all the close ones. (Unless against the Kings of course)

Kesler was a huge get by the Ducks. Nobody in the playoff's matches the Ducks at Center. I picked the Hawks to win, but the Ducks are deeper down the middle and that is how you beat the Hawks.

It wouldnt surprise me either way. Should.be real competitive but Id pick the Ducks in 7. I just think their depth is a little better and will make the difference.

I don't really think the Ducks are overall deeper at C

Kesler is great as #2C no doubt and better then Richards at this point but IMO the Hawks bottom 6C are better

Toews + Richards + Vermette + Kruger vs Getzlaf + Kesler + Cogliano + Thompson

The real difference in this series that terrifies me is the Hawks lack of NHL defenders. With Rozy injury the Hawks are down to just 4 NHL defenders

Timonen is finished and Rundblad is disaster

Ducks are 7 deep at D and Hawks will be using top 4 exclusively most of series

Ducks should be favorite going into this series because of the D situation

Rakell is our 3rd line center btw, cogliano plays wing on the 4th line(occasionally 3rd line)

When did Cogliano stop playing C? I admit I don't watch a ton of Duck games

Rakell + Thompson as #3/4 C is a clear downgrade IMO from Vermette + Kruger

Kesler is a lot better then Richards though so like I said I think overall C depth situation balances out more

Hawks also have Sharp (#2C in 2010 cup run) and Shaw (#3 C in 2013 cup run) that can move back inside if needed. Though Q hasn't shown a desire to use Sharp at C in 5 years

Shaw still moves back and forth

He hasnt really been center much sense he came to anahiem(few games here and there).

Rakell is a great 3rd line center(hes prob relatively unknown out east) but hes a very smart player, with a pretty high level skill set, still a bit young/raw tho. Thompson isnt going to impress with skill/speed but hell be out there in late game situations when were holding the lead because of his hardnosed, good defensive style game. I dont know much bout kruger, but vermette is great.... i would honestly say our center play is a wash between the 2 teams. Anahiems centers are all good in faceoff dot, and all very defensively responsible. Should be a pretty good matchup all over the ice, hawks havnt played anahiem after the trade deadline so there should be a few surprises, + silfverberg has been an absolute monster so far.

Good luck in the series, just wanted to fix that(rakell > cogliano at center), sorry king fans for posting in your thread, hopefully see you guys next year, still would've liked to get a kings vs ducks round 2 for redemption.

What do you guys always say? We got the 1st one. :)

With the new format I think the Kings and Ducks will meet at least 3 or 4 times in the playoffs over the next 5 years.

The Ducks have had a great season. Hope Chicago ends it though. Then the cup is back to the Kings in 2016.

It's ok, they had me at Rakell.

Would Chicago winning their 3rd cup (with this current core) really bother you guys? I don't care. I just want the 2-1 score to remain intact!

absolutely, I want the Ducks to crush the dreams of everyone within a 500 mile radius of Chicago.

Kane is a generational talent, and I respect that, but if the Hawks win I hope you all like constantly hearing how Chicago is "unmatched in the salary cap era" and are a "modern day dynasty".

If the Ducks win at the end of the day, the rivalry with them hopefully gets more heated and hockey grows more in California.

as far as series prediction, it's a toss-up.

CHI has gamebreaking talent in Kane and stronger top pairing in Keith/Seabrook, ANA has much better depth (especially on D) all the way around.
