GDT: Blackhawks vs. Ducks - Who Wins?

Folks, can't act surprised when you post a poll about two other teams that AREN'T the Kings then visitors walk in to further the discussion. No one has done anything wrong.

Kane is a generational talent, and I respect that, but if the Hawks win I hope you all like constantly hearing how Chicago is "unmatched in the salary cap era" and are a "modern day dynasty".

If the Ducks win at the end of the day, the rivalry with them hopefully gets more heated and hockey grows more in California.


as far as series prediction, it's a toss-up.

CHI has gamebreaking talent in Kane and stronger top pairing in Keith/Seabrook, ANA has much better depth (especially on D) all the way around.

Yeah, I'd hate to see the Hawks win the cup again, but I I'll take them winning again over our #1 division rival with whom we have to share a media market. Go Caps/Lightning.

The Kings had their chance to affect their outcome and blew it. I don't like being that guy on the sidelines that impotently hopes for misfortune for others just to mitigate my own (or in this case, my team's) failings. Whoever wins, wins... so be it.

I'd rather cheer for a team to accomplish something than cheer against a team to prevent them from something. So Chicago being the closest things to a dynasty in the cap era? Cool. The Kings can do something to add their names to the conversation next year. The Ducks getting the same number of cups as the Kings? Well, they will have earned it if that happens.

One of the saddest spectacles for me is hearing about old Dolphins cheering against NFL teams who are close to achieving an undefeated season. It reeks.

It's a legitimate discussion here. Can you think of two other teams that are so close to the Kings in terms of concurrent success and rivalry? And the fact that they are meeting each other in the WCF, our residence for the past three seasons?

Lots of compelling subplots here.

Ditto. I reallllly don't want the Hawks getting a third Cup this decade, not in the Kings' heyday.

I have have no problem them winning again, it was really a race to see which team get's their 3rd as far a I'm concerned. I was hoping we'd get a chance to face them again in the WCF with the winner getting a shot at a 3rd Cup. Chicago has their shot this year, and unfortunately we'll have to wait until next season .
 
I bet some of us Kings fans know more about the Ducks and their history than over 50% of those Ducks "fans" attending their games.

They've probably never heard of Randy Ladoucer or Tim Sweeney or Joe Sacco, Troy Loney, Todd Ewen, etc. Or those fun Stu Grimson scraps where he absolutely demolished Phil Crowe. And Dave Karpa always getting under the Kings' skin (a player the Ducks were actually smart about picking up after the Kings' dumbass medical staff deemed him unfit to pass his physical, thus voiding the deal McMaster had made with the Nordiques).

Anyhow, I admire how the Ducks are playing, I just don't think those "fans" deserve that team. They struggle to fill that building during the regular season. Here's hoping we don't see another embarrassing Cup parade in a friggin' parking lot.

I think you are exactly right, and I think there are Ducks fans who know more about Kings history than 50% of the Kings fans that are at the games. I personally miss the Tiger Williams days. Some probably think Jim Fox is just a color guy. I think it is just a fact about fan bases and the amount of new fans each year.

That last statement might be a bit harsh. sounds more personal than real.

Oh to answer the thread title, Ducks in seven after a great series
