Looking at standings, we have a 16 point lead on the team outside the wildcard. Playoff positions are basically set and if we continue at our pace, we are fighting with pit and car for positioning. Oh and isles lost 6 3 to the sabres LOL.

I’d be curious to see the xGF through regulation. It was probably something like 2 to 1.5. Just a generally low event hockey game for the most part.

If Chytil had found his game, that is a huge pickup for the team. He needs at least one skilled winger to play with, though. Kakko would look good there if he was closer to returning.

We finalize saw Jones-Schneider and it lived up to expectations. Jones is so dynamic and Schneider is such a steady presence. The D depth chart should look something like this now:

Fox
Trouba
Miller
Lindgren
Schneider
Jones
Hajek
Nemeth
Lundqvist
Tinordi

Just don’t mess this up by being afraid of a rookie pairing. It seemed to work out okay for Lindgren and Fox.

I am officially petitioning to have K’andre’s name in the poll changed to Marek Mill-ik.

Trouba takes a little of the blame as well. Instead of shooting the puck on net he tries a cross ice pass which was easily picked off and that started the break
Exactly. That puck came out of the zone so fast. Brian Leetch couldn’t have done anything about that. Miller had a couple gaffes but that was unavoidable. He also drew a penalty for the one he committed. From what I saw, he was his usual steady to exceptional

My point being schneider looks like the real deal and will be ready to play 2nd pair RD next year or year after.
You cant pay trouba 8 mil to play 3rd pair. So schneider slides up, nils slots in at third pair and we save $$$ for a Center.
Im not saying it will happen for trouba would have to wave his nmc but if schneider continues to play this well and gets better it would be the best scenario

that has always been the ideal proposed timeline for Schneider to take over on 2nd pair.
Hopefully some team trouba likes decides to offer up something to make us better.
Trouba is playing too well to give away for nothin, or worse pay some team to take him.
We’d look like complete morons

Laf needs to step it up if he wants to stay on that top line. Hunt will probably take his spot some time around the first period next game with the way things are going. I would love to see Chytil on that top line but it will of course be Hunt.

Didnt catch this game, but noticed that the postgame thread was short so assumed we won. Nice.

Penalty Smenalty, I was voting for Miller even if he didn’t score the winner. Of course Igor Skesterkin and third vote Filip Chytil.

Yeah, Miller is 21 y/o and Schneider is what 20 y/o.

If someone isn't super high on them, its because they haven't watched many Ds and know how these kids usually progress from their young 20's up until their 30s. Becoming consistent enough to be able to keep a high level over the course of a season, adding that last strength, finding confidence to expand your register offensively -- all those things always take a good number of years. It doesn't matter if you are Victor Hedman or Ryan McDonagh.

Not enough people are talking about how Dryden Hunt eliminated himself from shootout contention by skating backwards with the puck. I can't wait until we can find some legitimate NHL level bottom 6 players that aren't finding themselves and are just complete products.

Nothing personal but really getting beyond ridiculous all the complaining on here about a guy who at this point is on the short list for the Adams.
I’ve never uttered a word on GG until now, so you might want to get a handle on which posters say what before you start lobbing insults. If you watched the his postgame interview, like I did, you’d be able to tell by his body language that he genuinely never thought to call a time out to buy time for Igor. Clueless

I fell asleep during the shootout and got up right in time for the Key goal.

Streaky game. We got better as the game went along. Super happy with Fil, who had a good game.

Oh baby! Detroit next, my main man Seider coming to town. Most anticipated game for me.

Granted, the last one was two weeks ago, but I sincerely hope we get a run of mostly palatable hockey going here.

The lack of depth on the team is showing with or without Kakko, but Shesty is playing amazingly. The Vezina at this point is his to lose, and I really think he has a good chance at the Hart as well.

2 weeks off and thought it was an ok game considering the layoff. Still, a lot of credit to Shesty who stole another game for them.

Even if you believe he truly didn't consider calling a timeout for Shesterkin last night, the guy has been a highly successful head coach in the NHL over the past six or seven years, and has a real chance to win hardware this year. Calling him clueless in general seems, well, clueless.

Hard disagree. Panarin wasn't great but at least he contributed to the win. Strome missed at least 4 point blank shots and thats just the obvious stuff.
That’s unfair. Panarin wasn’t great tonight but since he scored in the shootout, it’s all forgotten. He had a two on one and breakaway and didn’t score once. They both weren’t great. First game in two weeks. People need to chill.
