He has a LONG way to go to be Henrik and he hasn't had that as much of a workload as Hank usually has had (partly due to injury/Covid) but this season so far Igor has been better than any regular season Hank has had, including 2011-12. And that's not a knock on Henrik. Igor has been incredible. I was sure we were in OT on that play, I was shocked he made the save.

So, uh, I missed this one. Just watched the highlights. They made it look like we were dominated by a Bruins team missing 2/3 of their top line. Igor stole another win. Sound right?

To Boston's credit they defended really well but we still suck 5 on 5. We're way too selective with our shots. Go figure the one goal we score was a rebound. In the playoffs when the refs put the whistles away we're gonna have an extremely hard time scoring. I'll take the 2 points but the outlook isn't great. This is kind of who the Rangers are

Unfortunately got stuck at work and missed all of the first and most of second. It seems like we had the much better of the play in the late second and third. I'm sure the Bruins had a stingy gameplan without 2 of their stars.

Big win. Bruins always play us tough. Always close games. Good to get that first one back. Love the confidence boost Gallant gives our youngsters. Miller must be on cloud nine. With his reach, I thought he might be good in the shootout. He made a great deke.

Why get rid of Trouba ?
My point being schneider looks like the real deal and will be ready to play 2nd pair RD next year or year after.
You cant pay trouba 8 mil to play 3rd pair. So schneider slides up, nils slots in at third pair and we save $$$ for a Center.
Im not saying it will happen for trouba would have to wave his nmc but if schneider continues to play this well and gets better it would be the best scenario

Both teams played well. It was a battle for sure and both goalies were good. Bruins are a good road team and were definitely trying to keep the game close.

We only had 2 SOG in the first, but I think we mostly carried the play from that point on. Igor made some huge saves as usual, and we seemed out of sync offensively--though Swayman also had a strong game. I would say 1-1 heading into OT was a reasonable outcome.

The heroic shit with Igor is how he was forcibly removed by the NHL at the end of OT to do the concussion protocol but made it back to play in the shootout.

The Rangers will add scoring depth before the deadline and hopefully a healthy Kakko.

So far Schneider is doing everything I could ask, him and Jones picked up right where they left off playing together in the A.

Jones has been gaining confidence quickly - really like what I see there.

Schneider and Jones played great and compliment each other well. They need to be the 3rd pairing. I have been a big defender of Gallant because you can't argue with the results but some things are very apparent. Nemeth, McKegg, and Gauthier should all sit.

Massive Positives
-Shesty
-Chytil ( and Hunt )
KAM, Schneider and Jones all looked phenomenal.

but our offensive 'plan', if we want to call it that, or the execution of it, is still terrible. We are terribly easy to defend and contain. It's infuriating because I know this team is capable of so much more at 5v5.

Miller might have won the game, but he was shit for the actual game. Like brutal.

Didnt even move when his goalie was run over, well until laf attacked smith.

also multiple defensive gaffes or bad positioning.

luckily he redeemed himself in the SO.

shesty is just unbelievable.

chytil looked good. Hunt sucks. Wish there was another fast player to stick on a line with him and goat. Why not at least try barron. He cant be worse than hunt.

loved jones-schneider. That pair should stay.

I was at the game and Miller looked like one of the best players on the ice

We need a crease clearer before Igor gets his knee ripped off in a Collision w a Craig smith type .
