I know. He said in the postgame that he called the TO to run a play with 6 seconds left after a reporter asked him if he called a time out to buy time for Igor. Then he said he didn’t even think about that, but that’s a really good point. The guy seems clueless to me.
So he should shed light on an already curious refs wondering how he came back so quick. Yea, the head coach should publicly come out and say he called a timeout to run his goalie through the test at hyper speed lmao.

Miller might have won the game, but he was shit for the actual game. Like brutal.

Didnt even move when his goalie was run over, well until laf attacked smith.

also multiple defensive gaffes or bad positioning.

luckily he redeemed himself in the SO.

shesty is just unbelievable.

chytil looked good. Hunt sucks. Wish there was another fast player to stick on a line with him and goat. Why not at least try barron. He cant be worse than hunt.

loved jones-schneider. That pair should stay.
We were watching two separate games if you honestly are sitting there and saying Miller was putrid tonight. Wow.

So, uh, I missed this one. Just watched the highlights. They made it look like we were dominated by a Bruins team missing 2/3 of their top line. Igor stole another win. Sound right?
Not at all lmao. After the 10 minute mark in the first, what did Boston do in this game except collapse everybody into the slot and play 2011 Rangers hockey?

I'm a big Shesty fan and have been since we drafted him. I'm a ride or die. He's always been incredibly talented and has the history to back it up.

That said, goalies are some real voodoo shit, so I don't blame them for going for the bridge deal first.
I think they would have loved to get 8 years if they could. I also think with his age, his agent knew that after 5 years, he can get another 7 or 8 years of a contract worth more than if he did it 8 years now and 5 years later. The contract length and value screams compromise between the two parties with everyone knowing that. It takes both sides to want that long contract. They still did really well with what they got. Kind of like the Fox deal, it could have been much worse and if you really look at it, it was a good deal for both the player and team.

I’ve never uttered a word on GG until now, so you might want to get a handle on which posters say what before you start lobbing insults. If you watched the his postgame interview, like I did, you’d be able to tell by his body language that he genuinely never thought to call a time out to buy time for Igor. Clueless
The way I read your quote and the way I addressed it was ....."unfair for the interview".......then I thought your remark was that you have finally concluded in totality that he is clueless. My reply was probably too harsh . My apologies.

Even if you believe he truly didn't consider calling a timeout for Shesterkin last night, the guy has been a highly successful head coach in the NHL over the past six or seven years, and has a real chance to win hardware this year. Calling him clueless in general seems, well, clueless.
Plus, why do we think Gallant should be buying time for Igor. He gets yanked with less than a minute to go in OT - Gallant is justifiably thinking whether Igor is hurt or not he's done for the game.

Igor chytil schneider

Schneider cant be stuck on third pair for long
Trouba will have to go before his nmc is up..
Find a way and keep nils for third pair

Moving Trouba this offseason solves lots of problems.

I just don't like how the team plays 5v5. It's been beaten to death but it doesn't make it less true.

We are bad in the middle of the ice, especially on offense. We rarely, attack the middle. We do not work well as a unit.

Whether it's coaching or personnel not executing.... it stinks @ 5v5

I thought Lafreniere had a bit of pep late in this game.

He certainly can skate and I would love to see him dictate more.
It's weird, he is often behind the play and looks slow but there are certain times where he looks quite fast. Is it that his positioning is bad and makes him look slow because he's always exhausted trying to get into position? Both he & Kakko get knocked for their speed but I think Laf is faster than Kakko.

Yeah, I don't think it's skating. He's not Pavel Bure, but he's not a helpless skater. It's mental. Either bad positioning or lack of confidence with the puck.

Exciting win. Way to overcome that BS as a team.

Terrible first but the 2nd and 3rd were pretty good. Good effort for the first one back after such a long layoff.

What more can be said about how good Igor has been?

That SO goal...that is why you can't give up on Miller too soon. Let him cook. There's so much more there.
What did I miss? has there been rumors floating about trading him or including him for that 2c, or scoring RW?
Of course there is a helluva lot more w/k'Andre. He's literally a DIAMOND in the rough, just needs time, my GOD, he's still a child in a HUGE body.
Also, he wouldn't be my avatar if he wasn't going to be a STAR.

Plus, stalling for Igor doesn’t do their backup goalie any favors mentally, who is already in a tough spot coming into the game cold during a critical moment.

Can’t believe they didn’t just lock Shesty up for 8 years. I don’t know how anyone could have watched this guy before this year and not seen the unreal talent. Performances like this, amazing
They need to put his jersey up in the rafters now, and be done with it, because its inevitable. Just get it out of the way, and then just let him play for the next 15 years.
