Plus, why do we think Gallant should be buying time for Igor. He gets yanked with less than a minute to go in OT - Gallant is justifiably thinking whether Igor is hurt or not he's done for the game.
Honestly, yeah, when he left the ice I assumed (I think like most) that it was over for him for the game. We've seen goalies leave several times now under that circumstance and it always feels like it takes 15 minutes or more to get a guy back out there. I was shocked when he came back out.

Really I'm not sure the Rangers want to be accused of delay tactics so they could rush their star goaltender through the protocol as fast as possible. Whatever. It worked out. Whether Gallant is being coy or whether he was being sincere, I don't have a problem with either.

That's what I thought. AND I think it would have been someone else's responsibility to tell him otherwise.

It's weird, he is often behind the play and looks slow but there are certain times where he looks quite fast. Is it that his positioning is bad and makes him look slow because he's always exhausted trying to get into position? Both he & Kakko get knocked for their speed but I think Laf is faster than Kakko.
This is because he's not actually a slow skater. He's just too inconsistent with keeping his feet moving so he's often a half step behind. This consistency will most likely come as his confidence grows and he's more comfortable overall in the NHL.

Moving Trouba this offseason solves lots of problems.
Usually agree with you but not here. Trouba is unique for us and he is the backbone of our D. If someone else, maybe Schneider proves they can be that, then we can move him. That won't happen, if it happens for a couple of years.

I was at the game and when we called timeout, the first thing i thought of was we are stalling to get Igor back. Geo faced zero shots and now he is going to participate in a shootout? We stalled, no matter what Turk says.

If Strome was bad, Panarin was worse
While we are handing out medals.....I have to say that Gauthier played really good along the boards last night . For what he makes....I think they better keep him around . He was also a bit more physical than usual . If Gallant can get into this guy's head over the next 30 +....he might be a forechecking monster in the playoffs ....beast mode physically ! He has the physical gifts of size and speed and I know he won't probably ever break single digits in goals....but on the bottom six...he could be a fixture and a cheap one at that and we will need them.

I thought Miller was great last night. He’s so far ahead of where I thought he would be at this point in his career that anything more than taking a solid shift at the NHL at this point is gravy for me.

I also thought Laf had a really strong third period and OT. That entire line was lifeless the first half of the game, but they all got going individually later on.

Loved the 3rd line last night. Gauthier has that slippery stick which stops him from finishing. I would try Barron Chytil Gauthier. Move Hunt to 4th line and oust Mckegg and see what happens. Barron has scored at all levels which that group needs.

The hate for Miller is just, odd to me sometimes.

He makes several really good standout plays and also a lot of more subtle plays mature beyond his years - and a few not so good decisions that any young defenseman not named Fox would make
Do people forget he just turned 22 in Jan. and he's a defenceman ????? He still has a little to learn and confidence to grow but he's going to be very good.
