I agree and I don't see what he loves so much about Lowe, I don't see it. I thought about the righty situation and figure Vaughan will eventually be a C so playing his off wing not a bad idea for his development either. His playmaking & vision would benefit both Beaudoin & Patterson big time, probably more so than anyone they can grab on the market plus he doesn't cost anything since we already have him. He also has some pretty good compete to go with his skill. I also hope Marty finds a way to get him some more ice, whatever the end solution ends up being.
Marty loves big players that can keep the puck in front of them. Lowe might be on the 4th line again when the roster settles, but a 5 year player for Williamson.
From what I've seen, Williamson is trusting Vaughn and J.Newton; and will award them with more TOI as the season goes on. Williamson has stripped Savard, Sale, Moses of TOI. He will play those doing what he wants.

Compare Marty to championship calibre GM/coaches like the Hunters. The Hunters develop talent at the JrB level and communicate the future plan going forward. Marty does not develop, communicate or chart a course for young players currently on the team or drafted prospects. The Hunters value skill over size. Marty values size over skill. The Hunters will use younger players that have proven themselves. Marty will favour older players over younger kids. The Hunters have a stable full of talented prospects from 08 onward. Marty alienates the young prospects by not playing them, or communicating with them. Marty is an old school coach who hasn't kept up with the times, and that will hurt the team

@dirty12 I agree, 84 & 94 have seen a bit more ice, hopefully it continues. Newton is a late 07 just turned 16, lots of time to grow into the player they saw when they drafted him. I do hope that Vaughan gets some better offensive linemates to roll with at 5v5 though, the 4th line is not where he belongs.

@WorkHardEveryShift hopefully Marty is evolving but I get what you are saying from a historical standpoint. I like that Barton is with the ColtsAAA and that Vader/Goodfellow/Emerton are developing in Tier 2. Time will tell with this group.

McCormick also playing u18 colts and is doing well. Emerton is the one I hope they don’t let get away he’s got the potential to be the best player outta their prospect pool right now not including Vaughan who’s on the team already. Just hope they don’t lose him to NCAA cause I think he could jump into a top 6 role easy with some pp time next year possibly top 4 role

I believe Emerton leaning NCAA as he already has visits lined up

It’d be unfortunate to loose for sure but makes sense for a kid like him who’s undersized and may need some extra years to develop ncaa is perfect for that

Hopefully with the changes to NCAA eligibility shift his perspective. He looked good in camp and is off to a great start in the OJ

Not having Aitchenson tonight has really hurt the defence. That Passmore Handsor pairing is weak and unfortunately akey hasn’t found his groove yet.

I missed the game but glad they got the dub. Looked like George was pretty hot according to the box score.

He played well Barrie got a little too fancy on a few chances but any win with ur backup in net is good. Once Jelsma comes back hopefully this team can take the next step especially offensively and start closing games out a bit better and win some games by 3-4 instead of games being 1 goal games

Two big wins. Have won 5 of their last 6. Jelsma should be back next week. Pretty good times to be a Colts fan. Loving the Stewart-Wakely-Gardiner line. Don't mind them winning one goal games for now so long as they're playing well. Will make them comfortable with it come playoff time.

I wonder what they're going to do with the OA situation when Jelsma gets back. It's too bad really. York looks to be the odd man out but hard to wreck the chemistry that Beaudoin & Patterson have built up with him over the past year. I'm thinking Jelsma slots in with Hemming and Wigle. I agree the Wakely line has been awesome, they are staying together. So that leaves a spot with Beaudoin & Patterson. Not sure...tough decisions to make

Yeah I think York has to be the odd man out wigle is just a more valuable player to have because of his versatility to play up and down the lineup take draws and kill penalties. I think the colts will likely try to trade for another winger to replace York at the deadline.

I think we'll see Jelsma take York's spot on the Beaudoin line and York will as said above unfortunately be the odd man out. While Lowe hasn't been bad, definitely gonna need an upgrade on his spot by the deadline. Wigle and Hemming are a step ahead. Thought both Jaiden Newton and Vaughan had a good weekend and seem to be gaining some chemistry.

Don’t think the colts would trade for another right handed winger they’ve got Gardiner hemming patterson and Vaughan who all are currently playing right wing. and plus Romani may cost the colts more than they want to spend and Romani isn’t exactly a Marty Williamson type of player. I could see foster, wainwright, brown being better options as lefty’s aswell.

Nice to see Passmore get noticed on the NHL Central Scouting watch list. Still has a ways to go, but the work he put in this summer is nothing short of amazing. No surprise to see Aitcheson ranked as an A prospect either.

Yes indeed.

I wouldn't be surprised to see a team take a late flyer on Bode Stewart as a 2nd yr eligible player come draft day, especially if he keeps up the playmaking we've seen to start this season.

Always liked him as a player he flys under the radar and isn’t very notice some nights but when he’s going he’s got very good hands and is a good skater that line of him Wakely and Gardiner has easily been the colts best line the past few weeks.

These are the lines a lot of us on here thought Jelsma on the line with hemming and Wigle. Then Lowe with Beaudoin and Patterson where a lot of people on here think that may be the 1 position that needs to be upgraded is at left wing and getting someone more talented than lowe on that line at the deadline. All in all exciting times for the colts.

Yeah, I think it’s a big opportunity for Lowe but if he doesn’t perform I do think they need to upgrade and find a LW to play with Beaudoin and Patterson. If they get a strong left winger they will have three solid forward lines.
