Cardwell seems to be having a really solid season as a rookie

Few things tonight, though. I'd have said some of it during the game but writing on this site on my phone was like pulling teeth:

-Gushchin seemed frustrated that he didn't get a whole lot going in this one. Felt like a quiet night for him and yet he led the Cuda in SOG.

-I am guessing Wiesblatt got hurt throwing that big hit in the first. I'm not sure I saw him after that. Real shame, because he was what was making line 4 click as well as it did and that's now out the window.

-Three point games for both Bordeleau (2G 1A) and Cardwell (1G 2A). Cardwell is so quick and sneaky, he just always seems like he's in the right place.

-McCarthy's go to defensive pairing tonight was Simek-Frisch.

-Not liking how indecisive Thrun can be with the puck at times.

-Gulls turned up the intensity late and Cuda just didn't match it. Frustrated we let them get as close as they did, but a win and 2 power play goals are good things to gain. Two games against Ontario up next, Friday-Saturday.

Well that was unfortunate. Puck bounces wildly into our zone on a PK and they capitalize. 1-0 Reign.

1-0 still after two. Honestly, we’re getting a good amount of zone time, but Ontario’s doing a good job keeping most of our shots to come from the point/perimeter.

Not much else to add to the highlights above, but on the positive, Makiniemi did actually have a pretty good game.
