This isn't a good trade by Kyle. Oh wait.
In all seriousness though, like the pitcher, price is terrible. I got down on SWR so it's not bad to send him with the concerns, but Martin is a huge overpayment. This needs to work out and need to extend Berrios.

If you are going all in though, we need more. He can't be the only guy we trade for.
I hear we have him under next years control aswell

On one hand this seems like a big overpayment.

On the other hand, the stock of both prospects was pretty clearly falling. And this management group has been pretty good at evaluating what they have in-house.

Will be a fascinating trade to follow over the next few years. They’ve either smartly sold high on some declining assets or made another Dickey deal.
The management is high end like the raptors. People will always complain though because of previous trades. The syndergaard babies r live an real

I feel the lack of offense makes them similar an reeses defense is better also. Is it a hot streak or is it the first real chance he's gotten to start in the majors

Jansen since May 1st - 91 PA, 118 wRC+, .283 BABIP
McGuire since June 5th (Janos injury) - 104 PA, 110 wRC+, .392 BABIP

Yeah I'm sure Jansen is better, and his defense is at worst similar.

Maybe we ll get the nationals catcher an we will both be letdown

It isn't though. McGuire has been significantly better (they've played almost the same number of games).

Only because Jano had a babip under .100 the first month of the season. Since the start of May he's been better when healthy, McGuire has just a better average because of an almost .400 BABIP since Jansens first injury. That obviously won't keep up for a guy with his profile.

Essentially Jansen has been on his best stretch since he had that cup of coffee his first year and he got injured, twice. He's a significantly better player than Reese when the BABIP normalizes and if he was healthy I'd be using Reeses hot streak to sell as high as possible.

Absolutely better than Reese, don't let his hot streak fool you. Significantly better defensively than Kirk.

Give me an elite defensive catcher any day of the week, they can make bad pitchers look average and average pitchers look good.

Yup not to mention his good hitting he blocks bad pitches an has a very good arm and iq to throw to first.

This is borderline Dregering, Mark. Whether you realize it or not.

Teams are definitely lowballing the Rockies and the only card they have to play is "well I uh... maybe we'll just take the comp picks then"

It's a bluff, call it.

I meant defensively.
