Ugh hate that Berrios trade.. not the year to go in like this and overpay as they did
I guess we should wait until vladdy bo an semien want big contracts. Not that it seems to matter. I'd like to know our salary cap compared to San Diego Yankees or dodgers

I loved Donaldson when he was here but there’s no way that’s happening and nor should it. Just evaluating him as a player and not the individual, that calf alone is enough for me to pass and that’s not including the individual side of things.
Only for cheap but I agree. He would be a rental for this playoff run but still can do damage an defend. Not sure there's gonna be much more action but if there is itll be a catcher or bullpen arm

Damn the A's got Gomes.
They got Harrison in the deal too. I was really hoping for Gomes. Not only would it correct one of my least favourite AA moves, but he’s the kind of catcher I’d trust going forward both in the playoff hunt and potentially in the playoffs. This is nothing against Kirk, but he’s made numerous rookie mistakes behind the plate that can be a killer during the type of runs the Blue Jays will have to go on.

After all the players these teams picked up lol I have lost track of their salaries. Money grows on trees in those markets it seems. We all know it’s obviously going to back fire on one. Only one team wins the series.

Donaldson still has $50M owed over 2 years and a buyout after this season and also has a NTC, which I would expect has Toronto on it. I’d imagine an acquiring team could get him for nearly free if they take all the money or would have to pay a decent price to get Minnesota to eat some of it or take a bad contract back.

Kinda of where my mind is too .. there are at least 3 teams in the AL that are easily better than the Jays and there a bunch of West coast NL teams that will feast on Toronto. this is probably more for the young players to feel good about their chances than it is for a legit run at the WS. Hey the GM has our backs.. kind of thing.

Ya it wouldn't take much at all and boost an already elite offense and defense. Might be to risky at this point to pay for rentals when not in a playoff spot. I admire management for going out an tipping off the starters with years of control. World series vibes now

This has got to be a f***ing joke. Not even remotely close to what anyone else got for a guy that’s leaving after next season. This is a trash trade if true
Yankees an dodgers pay money under the table to accept their garbage prospects

That does not in any way make this defensible. Awful awful trade. Both pieces should have easily been centrepieces for huge trades on their own
Team looks pretty set for awhile tbh, I'd even trade Pearson an Groshans for two elite relief pitchers. U don't understand how good we are
