Not really. He had a great season.Anyone else surprised Marner was a first team all star?
What I thought when I saw that image, someone is going to overpay Gaudreau, even though he deserves to be a 1st team AS.

They say Canada has a housing crisis but I don't think it's a big deal since Torontonians can just live in the heads of Albertans rent free.

well deserved.
unbelievable season for an unbelievable talent. I feel incredibly lucky to get to have Auston on our team. I just pray to god that he is a Leaf for his entire career.
I am not sure being a Leafs legend is something that overly appeals to Auston. Purely an assumption on my part, he just always seems to have a monotone like expression when talking about the history and prestige of the franchise. Then again, he seems that way about everything. If he leaves, so be it but I can't see anybody being able to pay him more that the Leafs can. I get why he might want to play in the States but if he won a cup here he would be a legend.
I don’t follow. Who are the dumb Leaf fans not appreciating him? Seems like everyone is.The Leafs have waited longer for a Hart than a cup…. Maybe this is the first streak/curse that has to break
Nope, we shouldn’t be surprised by dumb Leaf fans who can’t appreciate his talent
Marner joins Kucherov, Kane & Iginla as the only RWs who were B2B 1st-team all-stars post '05 lockout. Pretty good company.

It's hard to speculate what Auston will do, but I will be gutted if he leaves. I will still cheer for him individually regardless of what happens, but I will be devastated.
He is a once in a generation talent, and in my opinion the greatest Leaf of all time.
Its due to the pandemic. Theyve been playing catch up for the past 2 years to get back to their regular schedule. (which should happen for next season if nothing major gets in the way)I admit I don't really watch award shows but the timing of this awards show couldn't be worse. Between games 3 and 4 of the SCF? Makes the awards seem trite and meaningless. As I said, I don't really watch the Awards show but I cant recall it ever being shoehorned in while the finals are being played. If you wanted to downplay showcasing your best players, this would be an effective way to do that.
he's not leaving lmao. He has a chance to be the best leaf ever. His 26 year old grand kid with a drug addictions will be signing autographs on bloor street in 2092.Fanboys who claimed Dubas was smart signing him to a 5 year deal instead of 8 will be eating crow and Leaf nation will be as toxic as ever if he leaves but I think he resigns. If you can't sign him next July 1st then you gotta move him for the best package you can get. Nords won the Lindros deal. We may or may not win a Matthews trade but you should get some solid pieces/picks for him.

I think it's also foolish to not consider it a possibility. Auston and his team negotiated his current contract with intent. Either to leverage a pending departure, or to actually depart. Until an extension is signed both still remain a very real possibility.he's not leaving lmao. He has a chance to be the best leaf ever. As much as hf wants him to be in any other Jersey he's not leaving. Also the mains are super super mad he won the lindsay lmao. They were banking on the lindsay to neuter the Hart lmfao. Just a bad bad few days for them and it's so glorious and yummy!!!
Doesn’t his NMC kick in at the same time?Yup.
Coming from a Dubas "fanboy" myself, I would have to agree with this. It was always a mistake only getting him in for 5 years. One that if he does in fact leave after this contract will be the biggest mistake in Dubas' tenure.
It's hard to believe, but realistically this could be the last season Auston has in blue and white. I don't even want to think about it to be honest. But I agree whole heartedly, if he is not willing to talk extension in the summer of 2023 he needs to be moved. We cannot walk away with nothing for the best player to ever wear the blue and white
I and every Oilers fans I know will always trade regular season McTrophy's for deep playoff runs like we did this year.I haven’t ventured to the cesspool that is HFOIl but they must be losing their shit over this hart trophy win by AM34.

No offense but getting these awards is equivalent to a pity f*** and no one is more aware of that than Oilers fans.
Matthews had a great regular season. Congrats.
