I'm not sure it was ever explicitly stated as such, but I believe the general mindset has been, "it's one thing to give someone a first place vote in the regular season as a reward for voting, but in the playoffs, that would just be too much..."

I'm onboard for changing that next year, the only reason I say no for this year is it's not fair to people who have already left, and really to make a rule change mid-draft should get a unanimous vote, unless it's something absolutely necessary where some kind of executive decision needed to be made. I don't think this qualifies, but it sure is a shame people aren't voting, especially some GM's with strong contending teams.

Just sent in my votes with 3 stars. Went through them again with pen and paper at the hotel room. It was 10 without my own right?

Anyway, time for some more pasta frutti di mari while I'm still in Italy. :naughty:

4 divisions, 3 series per division. That makes it 12 series overall. 11 without your own.

I proposed the idea of voting on your own series before the draft and I'm not sure anyone cared at all.

Well will it really matter, everyone would then vote for themselves in 4, and those that don't bother voting don't really care anyway

The way things are now some people that still care about winning don't vote (say they're too busy, sick, whatever)...if they knew not voting would hurt their chances they would find a way. It shouldn't work like that but I can almost guarantee you that's what would happen.

I've got 19 ballots now. Considering we're four days over deadline and they're there are only 2 ballots missing from GMs who are in the playoffs, should we move ahead today? As it stands now, every series would be decided by three winning ballots (e.g. 9 voters say A advances over B, 6 voters say B advances over A) or more – apart from one exception in the consolation bracket.

Congratulations to Stoneberg and markrander87! GG guys, you've made a very good team, best of luck.

Can someone give me a link to the per game vs.x that was constructed earlier? I thought I had bookmarked it, but apparently not. Thanks in advance.

EDIT: haha, I just noticed that tinyzombies asked for this same thing on the post before mine, guess I'm going to need to find it myself...

The best work on it (IMO) was done just this year. It's in this year's ATD summary thread.

As far as I'm concerned it should start tomorrow. We need this to move faster than the stagnation that happened last year.

We'll have it start midweek pms will be sent out tomorrow

I'm hesitant to call it just because the arguments have started to pick up
