ATD 2017 Draft Thread IV

I'm leaving and I don't know when I'll be back. I sent a one name list to Johnny. If that guy gets taken just skip me.

The Miami Screaming Eagles select Trevor Linden, RW/C

The heart and soul RW/C will be a great presence in the locker room and a solid bottom 6er in the case of an injury.

Who will provide us with their thoughts on the latest picks whole Tony is gone?

We need someone to volunteer to start the assassination thread. You'll need to help the mods keep count of assassinations given and received

Regina selects strong defensive forward, very good even strength scorer and excellent penalty killer Mike Ridley, C.
 I watched him his entire career and remember debuting him in the ATD in 2011:

... selects 6'1, 195 lbs. two-way, hard-working pivot Mike Ridley, who has scored a respectable 78 playoff points in 108 NHL playoff games. Over his most productive 6-year stretch, he scored 454 points, 279 of them assists. He was one of the Capitals effective penalty killers and a short handed goal threat.

Hockey Scouting report 1995-96 said:
Ridley is a crunch-time player. He will protect the puck with his body or work like crazy to get the puck free. He pays the toll in the traffic areas. He is a very disciplined player. For someone as involved as he is, he takes only a tiny number of bad penalties... He has missed few games, but not because he doesn't get hurt. he just plays hurt.

I told him after he messaged me about the pick because my internet was going in and out because we're in the middle of a hurricane here.
I've been deciding, very slowly, on my pick, because of the difficulties researching. I'll have it posted soon.

Oh damn. Hopefully you guys make it out OK!

A piece of roof moulding hit my window frame and I had to run out and give it to my landlord before it blew onto my car or something, but other than that there's no damage to my place. The power is back on the east side of St. John's.

http://vocm.com/ has some rather scary pictures of smashed up cars and roofs blowing off houses, and I'm glad none of that has happened to me yet. It's supposed to calm down pretty soon, knock on wood.

Yikes. That's pretty intense.

Forsberg is skipped.

monster_bertuzzi selects Willie Mitchell, D.

PM'ing next.

I will select a clutch playoff performer who was 11th in Playoff and Cup Final goals through 1926 with 23 goals in 16 games. He was strong defensively and was a small aggressive player on the very strong Wanderer's teams that controlled the cup for much of the first decade of the 1900's. He was versatile and will be a nice part as one of our spares.

The Cobalt Silver Kings select F - Frank "Pud" Glass

We will also select a defenseman who I am a bit surprised has not been taken yet. He is a good offensive defenseman and someone who can throw some massive body checks when needed. His Norris Finishes include: 2, 6, 8, 11, 12. He also has a NHL 1st All-Star Team honor, has three All-Star game appearances and has recorded 461 points in 887 games while playing over 24 minutes per game.

The Cobalt Silver Kings select D - Dion Phaneuf
