I know some have mentioned Florida being a scary team, and I agree that they have a talented roster, but their goaltending is bad and their coaching is suspect. Not a good combo.

I am one of those and am willing to say, seeing them get absolutely pumped by the predators eases my mind a bit.

NJ scores, up 2-1 on pitts. With florida having already lost, NYI clearly going to lose, and washington going against carolina, it could be a really good night for us.

As long as the Sabres do their part!

This. Florida has lost, the Islanders are toast, Pittsburgh's trailing, and the Caps and Wings are both underdogs in their games later. I won't call tonight's game a must-win because it isn't, but if all 5 of their closest competitors all lose and the Sabres don't make up any ground whatsoever...good god would that be a nut punch.

Omg things are actually going our way around the league today. And a western conference team beat a team we’re trying to catch! We need to capitalize!!

There’s half a dozen teams that could have bought that 4th. Do they all need excuses or do you realize not all of them could’ve involved in the deal?

Hurray, another excuse for dig-another-well Pegula. I would love to be wrong, but this guy has been in don't spend mode for a bit. We are $18 M below cap and playing Bryson or Clague all the time; These are the guys that can't be blocked. Deadline is long way to go but Sabres have ways to improve without giving up major prospects. My prediction is they won't.
