Hurray, another excuse for dig-another-well Pegula. I would love to be wrong, but this guy has been in don't spend mode for a bit. We are $18 M below cap and playing Bryson or Clague all the time; These are the guys that can't be blocked. Deadline is long way to go but Sabres have ways to improve without giving up major prospects. My prediction is they won't.

Think of it this way. If we DO lose tonight, nothing changes.

....but lets win
Well, I'm not looking so much at the math as how they are playing, whether they get goal tending, etc.

Thankfully they won, despite a not-so-great 1st and 2nd. So they prolong the agony. This next week will clear up the picture quite a bit. I can't believe they have 5 games in hand on the Isles and Panthers, 4 games in hand on the caps, and 1 game on the penguins and red wings (they are sneaking up).

With how the Sabres play defense in front of their net, the Leaf game could be a rough night.
I find it crazy that when the Sabres play Toronto it will be February 21st and the Sabres have only played 5 games in total in the month of February. Only 4 games since the All Star break, no wonder they can't get into rhythm. Now another two days off between Sharks and Toronto?

It sure seems like it was personal Pat.

I think it was Jeff Marek that said that teams were waiting for PKane to have a dominant PKane game before really engaging the Hawks in trade talks. Well, I think teams got that...

We need to see the next rumored team that PKane wants to go to. As soon as we get that, we will find out the team that will trade for Timo Meier.

One caveat to that was Samsonov admitting that he has the #2 flu in his post-game. Leave it to the Leafs to have 3-in-4, with half their goaltending tandem on LTIR, and player the NHLer against the Hawks.

Even with caveats, he does have 5 goals and 6 points in his last two games played vs Ottawa and Toronto.

If he wants out, he is doing his part to make it happen.

It's about time. Perhaps getting snubbed by both of his prom dates got him doing a little introspection and wondering why it wasn't him.
