I wonder if a team comes to the Hawks to see if he'll waive to go somewhere else. Dallas might be a fit. I was hoping he was going to take his broken down self to Toronto but man, this O'reilly/Acciari move is really good for the Leafs.

Also, the Wild bought a 4th for $74K in real money to retain on O'Reilly for the Leafs. THAT was what I was hoping Buffalo would be in on, though I imagine there is the specter of a trade having to satisfy NTC/NMC restrictions too...

Honestly I feel like he'll go everywhere then sign back with the Hawks this summer. Dallas would be the best option he has now.

Can you imagine KA having that conversation with Pegula though?

KA: "Hey Terry, we have an opportunity to buy a draft pick, we just have to take on a little salary to facilitate a trade between two other teams. They're talking about giving us a 4th for a little over $74k"

TP: "Oh, ok, that sounds great, we should definitely do that! Anything that helps the team, you know I'm here to give you the resources you need. Just curious, what's the trade, who's salary would we be paying?"

KA: "Well, the Blues are trading Ryan O'Reilly to the Leafs, so we just have to retain a bit of Rya..."
