The best team remaining won. Best talent, best system, best coaching.

Panthers couldn't even change lines at the proper times.

Oh well, it was fun watching Reino and Monty in the big show.

I detest Vegas and Florida looks pathetic, completely the opposite of the previous 3 rounds. A damned 6 year expansion team can win a cup we can't even make the playoffs. Fn embarrassing.
Uh.... It was 1975 and NHL's old breed were pissing and moaning about how the 1970's expansion teams were given the wheel spin to access the #1 pick in the draft.

Montreal lovers were whining that Perrault under the old rules should have been their pick not Buffalo's. And now he was playing for the Stanley Cup! (Nic Martin too..!)

DIfferent times, different system. Same bitching....

The only team in the East I could have seen beating this Vegas team would have been Boston.
True.... Bruin fans should be stepping out onto the ledge as we speak.....

This should have been their year.

Im not even mad, eichel was a great player here. I still don’t agree with not letting him get the surgery he wanted and never will. He played a fantastic playoffs and deserves the Stanley. I can’t believe he came back so quick from that hit

I think there’s a great story of lies, betrayal, sex, and murder behind why Eichel is in Vegas. Unfortunately, we got Harrington and the Paulrus to dig it up for us.

Congrats to the Golden Knights, it is quite a incredible accomplishment in six years! It shows what an ambitious owner can really do when they say they want to win a cup and actually do it.

Jack was nice to us the couple times we met him while here although it takes two in a dispute. I would even go as far to say the couple game visits to Buffalo "motivated" him to be better.

I would hope KA and the Sabres look at how strong that big top 4D as well as a experienced vet like Martinez was for them and how important their grit and depth was.

Hitting on someone like Stephenson (77OVA) for them was important as well.

They won on goalie roulette as well with Hill (who a few around these parts liked) and look good going forward with Thompson as well.

He asked for the trade before the neck injury. Sabres treated him like an asset they were selling.

How do the Sabres get McNabb back? Isn't this his second cup now? And what was that trade again? Lol. Jesus Christ

For all the weird Eichel story angles for Sabres fans to gripe about (me included), try being a Panthers fan and losing to the team that your GM gifted two good players to in a monumental expansion draft failure. Then watching one of them win the Conn Smythe. That digs deeper than the Eichel trade for me.

Vegas can go F off now though. They don't have prospects for a decade. I don't think expansion teams need to start in the basement for five years, but the current set up is simply buying and gifting a playoff team to a new owner/fan base. Seattle is up next, and KA needs to drop a big offer to get Borgen back before he shuts down the Sabres top line in the next SC final, and avert more exp team SC karma (half kidding).

Maurice said 4 guys dealing with broken bones. Sounds like Ekblad was in bad shape since the Boston series. It showed.

Didn't seem like there were any cameras on Eichel/Reinhart in the hand shake line. Anything noteworthy happen? Looked pretty superficial.

Congrats to Eichel! Elite talent and now Stanley Cup Champion. Also congrats to Reino for getting a couple garbage time points to break the finals goose egg. And a super special congrats to Lindy Ruff, who was saved from taking over 1st place for most career games coached without a championship. Maurice stays in first place for now.
Garbage points is Reinharts specialty

Just a FYI, Stephenson was a trade acquisition from the Caps.

Something clearly needs to be done about the LTIR shenanigans being done in the league right now. Of course teams that have an extra Mark Stone or Kucherov are going to be really good

No it should stay the same. When Buffalo's FW prospects are ready to be full time pros, Skinner can fall ill all of a sudden and open up 9 mil in cap space for Kulich, Savoie, etc, and KA can add a big cap hit at the deadline. Magically Skinner is cured by a shaman the day after the regular season ends...profit. This will become a trend for any owner that wants to spend extra, and shamans will get their due as world healers.

I don't know. Either this site allows politics or it doesn't. Because I'm pretty sure if I countered this claim it would be removed.

I don't care which way we go but lets keep it consistent.
I reacted to a claim in sympathy but I didnt make a claim; I don't live there and I don't know about any politics in detail to make any claims; I personally wanted the Panthers to win.
