Florida's been terrible for most of the last decade. Just like a few seasons ago they graduated to mediocre and have finally evolved into a legit contender last season. They paid their dues just like the Rangers will have to.

Even saying all that, I think we could steal a series against them if a few bounces go our way.

Tough league.

Tage Thompson hat trick. What a coming out party for him since switching to center. 19 goals 37 points in 45 games.

Is this the thread to use to talk about other team’s prospects? Is anyone else straight up sweating the Dallas Stars like I am?

They have arguably the top 3 drafted forward prospects in the CHL and the earliest was taken at pick #23. Good luck or smaht scouting?

Who are you talking about? Wyatt Johnston, Bourque and?

Is it me, or is parity in the NHL at an all time low in the salary cap era?

The goal differentials, the talent gap, the attendance and earnings gaps... lots of places trading their cap space for resources that never build successfully into a competitive roster...

Don't get me wrong, I like seeing new clubs like Florida, Carolina, Vegas and Minnesota doing well. But it seems like a lot of the have-nots in the league right now have no way to progress.

Parity has always been a fairly visible lie in the NHL, propped up by the current points format for standings.

There's no parity.

It's just handcuffing the big markets/successful teams to try to drag them down to the orgs that are ran like shit.

Enjoying the fact that Barzal has the same number of points to lead the Isles as Kreider has goals, and that a goalie who hasn’t played in the NHL in 4 years is beating them right now, even though it’s early.

And Pitt tied the Canes after being down 2-0.

If we can hold off the Capitals, there is a VERY good chance we are facing Car in the 1st round on the road this year.
