yeah but at this point those failures don't matter. They did develop Pelick and Pulcock, Bork Nelson, and the trade for Pageau was perfect for them. They have a solid team thats really tough to play against and is annoyingly good at winning 1-goal games

Yes, they have a solid team but a solid team doesn't win a cup. Isles fans are delusional if they think this team is going to win the cup. They just traded away another 1st after giving up a 1st and 2nd last year. I hope they keep doing that and get knocked out in second round.

The Namestnikov and Vesey trades looking pretty good. Both those picks should be at the top of their respective rounds.
Maybe we find a gem in the early 3rd or early 4th

I heard Morin concussed Ross the Boss in a game recently . That is not good for a goon and still a year to go on his Million a year salary . Morin is a dangerous guy.

Avs cancel morning skate as a precaution after somebody tested positive for Covid :thumbd:

These guys aren't in the NHL anymore, but I didn't know where else to post this. Interesting story about Graves and Keenan that I did not know about told by Tony Amonte.

Whats the deal with Gusev? Is there an issue or just making too much?

I don't think you can terminate a contract for making too much money lol he must've violated terms or something no?

the team can't just do it. they would need to buy him out...termination of contract is a mutual agreement that the player is agreeing to forever whatever reason he has.

I meant that is there an issue? For example if he was making league minimum would they be doing this? Or is the money making the issue worse. Or is something wrong where the money isn't even a factor.

Gusev and the NJ mutually agreed to terminate his $4.5M contract, allowing him to immediately become a free agent.

Gusev wasn’t getting ice time, and his agent likely confirmed that other teams are interested but can’t make the money work. Gusev is taking a financial hit the rest of the season, but can sign cheap with a contender and play for his next contract.
