Gusev and the NJ mutually agreed to terminate his $4.5M contract, allowing him to immediately become a free agent.

Gusev wasn’t getting ice time, and his agent likely confirmed that other teams are interested but can’t make the money work. Gusev is taking a financial hit the rest of the season, but can sign cheap with a contender and play for his next contract.

That's what i was figuring. I'd be surprised if someone like Ottawa or Detroit don't pick him up.

He is clearly a fun boy and just wanted to be in LA so he can wear white t-shirts all year round.
Well...if you are playing limited minutes for the same money...warm climates seem like a good idea . Plus if he gets cut a good chance another local club grabs him . Likely finish out his career on the warm coast . Is it cheaper living in LA versus NY ...possibly also a factor .

Kakhonen lit up by St Louis and they left him in for all 9 goals against woof
This season has to be on par with 80’s era goal scoring. The amount of high scoring games seems to be up there. Anyone know off hand where this *season is on the list of high scoring seasons?

Hope he gets traded back to Winnipeg; that'll team him to prefer the warmth.

As someone who has lived in both NY/LA the later is not cheaper. Rent may be if you stack a house full of roommates (a common LA move even for people in their 30s) but gas as much more expensive, and you're driving a lot more. Eating out can actually be more expensive with sneaky surcharges. Taxes are a coinflip as well.

There's a reason why when Joe Rogan moved from LA to Texas the memes and attention to this trend started.

$10M 7 years for replacement level goaltending is never not funny.

TB at it again as they are acquiring David Savard from Columbus. Let’s see who is up next in their team for “scheduled surgery”.

We're gonna be deadlocked with the Bruins on game 56, go to the shootout to decide the final berth and Kaapo is going to Olli Jokinen
Let’s see if we can pass Philly first. For as much of a joke they’ve been this season, they are ahead of us in the standings and have a winning record against us

I would prefer philly to try to keep beating the teams ahead of us. In the end if we can’t pass Philly then most likely we have zero shot! Also if we both miss maybe we slide up another spot in the draft. But I understand your thinking too

If they get that close I won't be disappointed tbh
