Regular season extended to May 16th. That's a super tight schedule and the league hasn't moved the draft.

That's six weeks for four rounds of (7-series?) playoffs?
Interesting. The NHL said in its press release that because of the Canucks games being pushed back their division could start its playoffs a few days later than the rest of the divisions.

If we beat the Isles tomorrow and Washington beats Boston we are back within 3 points. Don’t think in the big scheme of things we will catch them but at least the games will be meaningful up until the end.

they will remain meaningful as long as we keep winning...just have to focus on taking care of business each night

Alex Galchenyuk is sittin’ pretty right now lol.

He’s been bouncing around for years and could just as easily be playing in the KHL right now.

Instead he’s playing on Toronto’s first line with Auston Matthews and Mitch Marner.

Lmao the Habs only have 1 more win than Vancouver. Falling like a f***ing rock.
Their youngins have fallen back to earth. Gallagher still the lifeblood of that team.
Still should be exciting Leafs habs first round

Seeing Tampa's shrew cap maneuvers, as costly as it is, I'm sure Bergevin will be forced to do something before the deadline is over.

Based on the regular season, he's going to be fired. He now needs total success in the playoffs. Nothing short of conference final. With a big move pending in Toronto too.

I saw today that we'd be well within playoff range in any other division but East has Boston 4th. The sad thing is that when the divisions go back to where they were it'll be even tougher. Carolina + Columbus >>> Boston + Buffalo. Thankfully we won't have these incestuous seasons where we never play outside of the division.

Overrated team obviously.
If the Jets or Leafs play even close to decent they will knock them out in 5

Edmonton had basically been playing this year trying to get to next year when they will have some cap space and Holland can finally put his mark on the team

For their sake Hope that includes finding a goalie. Isn’t Smith about 40 years old?
They do have some decent prospects but also quite a few holes to fill in that bottom 6

I get it now, only their division got extended. You got it right the first time. I misread the article.

I can't see a scenario where the Rangers are mathematically alive but don't need to sweep Boston in the final two games of the season. A scenario that in all likelihood would also give the Rangers the tiebreaker. So, I think the threshold is to get within 3 or 4 points. Now, do I think a veteran club like Boston would fail to take care of business if such a thing were to occur? No. But those final two games have a decent enough chance to matter if the Rangers can play... ya know... .615% hockey, which is what they've done since the 4-7-3 start. That would be wonderful experience for the kids even if they fell short.
