That’s still not great. They’ll need to give him an even bigger contract soon, and it will have to eat up UFA years too.
I don’t think they’re winning shit. I think they just gave their franchise player a 3-year contract. They are built for the now, paying him more now would require them to lose more players. I think this helps them try and win now and then when some players salaries come off the book they can resign him. A 6 or 7 year deal would have had to be in the close to 10 range, how much more than that could he want in 3 years? 11? I think its a good gamble.

could have had him instead of Gropp REEEEE
Wait, a team is actually streaming their scrimmages? Groundbreaking!
Before I posted I had to google his name to make sure I spelled it right and I was also curious to see where he went in the draft. I forgot he was a 5th round pick with all the anticipation Wild fans have had for him finally coming over I thought he went higher.no need to call out gropp...we picked 6 guys that all suck before he went.

Montreal made some good changes and those changes even look better because they definitely look like a playoff team in that division. They have the best depth in that division and could make some noise with their increase forward depth/size.Dom Luszczyszyn shared an article showing the change in odds due to the new division format:

Goaltending will be their downfall.
Also they just signed a ton of bodies. Im not sold on them doing a whole lot this year.
Couldn't be more excited for Wednesday, but this season is gonna be such a circus. When these teams are actually in contact with one another, this is gonna get messy quick.
Yeah, i'm not too sure either. Haven't heard anything bad yet, but I also have no clue if and how their league protocol differs.I honestly don’t know but how are things going in the NBA? Don’t follow enough to know but haven’t really heard of a ton of chaos and they’ve been playing for about 2-3 weeks now no? I’m still trying to stay positive
So Vegas had most of their percentages drop because they swapped division opponents in the Oilers, Flames and Canucks for the Avs, Blues and Wild?Dom Luszczyszyn shared an article showing the change in odds due to the new division format:
