I’ve been so impressed with Dallas (which is almost completely Euro) and probably the baddest team left. Not fight-wise, just tough. They’re like “Hit me. Hit me again”. Savages.

built for the playoffs. Mr Boriszubov might be coming around.

I tend to agree. We're likely not going to be a serious contender anyway for next season. I don't think the front office sees it the same, however.

I think front office wants it to seem to ticket buyers like they are intending on being a contender every year but i do believe they know as well as you and I that we aren't there yet. Trading one of our left dmen on a team thin on the left side in Skjei, during a playoft push, was a big sign of that.

I agree with you, but I was referring to the buyout situation. (after re-reading I can see how I confused my point). I think the front office will buyout Hank if he doesn't retire to add cap space...as much as I think we would be better served not carrying dead cap going forward.

Same thing with Staal...I'd rather keep him on the roster as the 7th Dman sitting in the press box while giving someone else a chance to play. Start fresh with a clean cap sheet in 21-22 & let Gorton supplement the roster with some short term FA additions until the kids are ready to step in.

Kudos to the Stars for turning it around. They're certainly playing like a different team from the end of the regular season & the round robin when they looked horrible even after the first round began. Doesn't hurt they've gotten a little lucky along the way catching a very average Calgary team with their awful goalie situation. That 3-0 comeback in Game 6 tends to galvanize a team & now they're riding a ton of momentum.

They've done a good job at exposing Colorado as basically a one line team, taking advantage of the Avs injury situation along with some favorable officiating that completely changed game 2 a couple of days ago. This series could be over tonight unless Kadri's line shows up again.

I'm not convinced they're as good you might think they are, but I can't argue with the results. They're doing what they need to do to win.

I don't feel bad for Colorado at all

Those cheap f***s had their chance to really upgrade their team with Kreider and they didn't pony up.

Instead they acquired Namestnikov who is good but not nearly close enough to the help they needed

Isn’t he Canadian?
Yes. He also said his father is a police officer, but his father has been a career firefighter for the last 30-ish years post-lacrosse, soooooooooooooooooo.........

The more he ranted on Twitter, the more the whole story sounds fake af

I wonder if he was legitimately hacked, but then again...

Not looking for props and have enjoyed the spirited debate :).

Not trying to convince how good they are as much as how they are built for the playoffs. Last year was no fluke. They have a big, veteran team which plays heavy. They lean on opponents, push, shove, hold and make it miserable for opponents to skate freely. Quite the contrary, they couldn’t catch the Rangers who skated circles around them.

Like many veteran teams, the Stars stick to a game plan come playoff time. More tough than skilled while that skill isn’t obsolete.
