Arizona Coyotes Statement

"We were advised today of the NHL's ruling regarding the allegations of physical fitness testing of draft prospects and respect the League's ruling. Under new leadership, we have added thorough internal controls and compliance measures to prevent this type of occurrence from happening again in the future. We will have no further comment."

Ouch. Their owner must be livid after the league sought him out & sold him on the merits of owning the team. First Chayka & then the league comes down on him like a ton of bricks for this.

There were enough people in place who knew this wasn't allowed.

The fact that is still happened is pretty amazing.

John Chayka the boy wonder genius lol. He helped destroy that franchise. Their future severely more bleak.

Yotes fans are apoplectic because the exact details haven't really been shared by the league. Can you shed any light on what really took place?

So the word is that they were doing not only measurements, but testing as well --- endurance, strength, etc. Supposedly they had facilities in different markets where they arranged the tests and planned to bring guys in. I honestly don't know how many, but I don't think it was a high number. Things got shut down pretty quickly --- which is not surprising at all.

All of this off limits. The NHL puts all the vitals out there for teams and they all gain access to the same information. No outside testing.

Now, it is important to note that teams still do as much research as possible and look for information sources to give them a competitive advantage. But they are not permitted to arrange for any testing and measurements themself.

Can Arizona really survive this? They already have a meh team IMO and now pretty much the next two years their draft capital has been ripped to shreds.

If they tear it down properly they could rebound pretty quickly. They have a good young nucleus already in Chychrun, Keller, Dvorak, Schmaltz. They just need more. So for me, I'd be looking to trade:
OEL
Stepan
Kessel
Goligoski
Demers
Hjalmersson (if he will accept)

Time to go young and find some good depth UFA signings who may be looking for an opportunity

It's the Kevin Hayes show. Great play by Hayes had Goalie thinking pass and had him cheating

Thanks for the reply. Also found this on the Yotes board...

Report: Investigation of Coyotes includes 20 or more alleged incidents

Was an attempt at humor. Quebec doesn't have an NHL minimum standard building to house an NHL team anyway.

Arizona has been a struggle since their inception. They need to move.

Even moving to a better arena location in Arizona could be enormous for them

And Kevin Hayes show how great and how frustrating of a player he can be.

When he's on, you have games like today.

When he's off and looking like a stroke victim, you have games like the one's where this board made fun of him.

And you never know which way it's going to go.

Not true... Videotron Centre was built in 2015 with the intention of luring an NHL team. They applied for an expansion team the same round as Vegas.

Just have to keep him from having any scooby snacks before the game

Anyone but the Islanders. I would love a Dallas or Tampa cup. I can live with the Flyers getting a cup but not the Islanders, lol.

I'm rooting for the Canes pick, and if that means the Islanders getting to the conference finals before being trounced by either the Bruins or Bolts, so be it.

So my interest is squarely focused on getting to the 21st pick. Whether we use it, or the pick has just that much more value in a trade, is secondary to me. Though I do admit that I'd like to use it and or trade up from the pick .

Frankly, 21 is easier to get to certain ranges for guys than 24.
