2 minutes and 4 games.
Little good that did the Rangers though.
That attack was insane. And the ref was right there, looking at it, if I remember correctly. Should have been at least a five minute power play. The NHL must lead all pro sports leagues in official's calls getting overruled or changed by the league office.
My ref rage is boiling up early this year!

The Peg and the BJs look royally ****ed ... bottom 3 teams imo.
I wouldn't say that. Borderline playoff teams rather than potential contenders as they were last year? Yes. Bottom feeders? No way.

Columbus still has Werenski, Jones, Atkinson, and co. and Tortorella relishes playing with a scrappy team with low talent.

Winnipeg with all of their warts has good goaltending and an explosive offense. Defense is a major concern; their success this season rides on how Niku and Samberg can handle the NHL.

Ottawa, Detroit, LA, and Anaheim are the bottom feeders this year, IMO.

That Chabot contract seems pretty crazy. Hopefully it works out for them.
At this point, I see 3 outcomes for ADA
  1. We trade him
  2. He holds out till Jan and finally signs some form of a contract (and then probably trade him anyways during the next offseason)
  3. We make a trade to clear cap space and give him slightly more and he signs a one year

He wouldn't be able to play this year unless he's signed by December 1, I think.

That is a great deal for Ottawa.

Why did Ottawa give Chabot that deal? He had no leverage and they aren't going to be good anyway.

The deal is 8 years, his contract wasn't expiring anyway. So they now have his rights for the next 9 years.

If they waited this year or next year to go long term with him, he might have cost a lot more per year. I think he's the real deal and this will turn out to be great value for OTT.

This Chabot deal reminds me of when Tyler Myers exploded onto the scene ten years ago. “Wow, he’s so big and such a great skater! Look how many points he’s putting up! #FutureNorris”
