Do the Leafs have a bulldog kind of forward with skill? No, not really.
Look at the top teams who win Stanley Cups. They all do have at least a heavy with top skill. The Leafs are not remotely ready. They can't check off the boxes yet.

Well Kadri, but he isnt smart enough to figure out how to stay in games

Leaf Nation is very incensed by what they consider being the officials tilting the ice against them.
Even if refs don't get tit for tat correctly (as if that would ever happen in any sport) it rarely is the reason for a team losing. There is not much better example of this truism than tonight's Bruins-Leafs game.

The Leafs literally had 12 months to prepare for this matchup. They should be thrilled the series is even tied. That team still has all the same problems they had last year.

Nice shift by the Avs to start the third.

I hate to say this, but I'm rooting for the Pens tomorrow. I don't even live in NY, but I can't stand these insufferable Islanders fans anymore. They're acting like they've won the Stanley Cup. I don't know how you guys tolerate these guys.

Bruins keyed on Kadri because they knew how he would react. So predictable.
You don't win with a player like him, a liability should never be part of your core.

Meh, I don't really give the Isles much thought. I can't really blame them for enjoying the shit out of this season, given how mercilessly the Tavares thing was rubbed in their faces.

To be completely honest I don't think I've ever actually met an Islanders fan in real life, and I'm not trying to be a dick or anything. I almost feel a certain degree of respect for anyone that would follow such a bizarre sports franchise. For half of the posters on here, in their lives, the Islanders have never been anything more than the weird neighbors next door that you've never seen leave the house, with a lawn that hasn't been mowed in what looks like a decade. I'm 30 years old and the last time that team's done anything interesting, Kurt Cobain was still alive, and Jurassic Park hadn't even been f***ing released yet.

The one year the Rangers and Islanders were both good at the same time and Derek Stepan was #1C for the Sound Tigers, ok yeah that was really f***ing annoying lol. But other than that, yeah, knock yourselves out, I got other teams to hate.

CBC showing John Tonelli's tying goal against the Rangers with 27 seconds left. Nystrom then won it in overtime.
Sayonara Rangers. That one really stung I remember.

I like your neighbor analogy.

As an older fan, I hated them a long time ago, but they got so bad that they became irrelevant. Even more so when I moved away from NYC in 94. I honestly don't care about them at all. They're just another team to me. Their fans are another story though.

Islander fans have little brother syndrome. Like the Devils fans, they often see themselves as being treated like second-class citizens. The Rangers get all the media attention. They get all the celebrity followers. They hear how all the free agents want to come to the Rangers. etc, etc, etc They can't wait to troll you for their perceived slights.

Anyway. Colorado is in trouble here.

Grubaeur saves his team, right up the ice for the Avs game winner.
What a game
MacKinnon keeps proving how special he is. does the lunchbucket stuff and the elite stuff too.
